The subject of the thread "Calling 1275psi" reported that it was said that on Amchitka (there was a naval base there) there was a girl hiding behind every tree. There were and are no trees on Amchitka.

Well, there are likely no girls there either. He was right.

That sounds like some kind of code.

"Broadsword calling Danny Boy. Broadsword calling Danny Boy. Come in Danny Boy."

"We read you, Broadsword. Do you have the cadence?"

"Roger, Danny Boy. The cicadas are very loud this evening. Repeat: The cicadas are very loud this evening."

"Acknowledged, Broadsword. All sins are forgiven."

First the beavers = no trees. Then the polar bears = no beavers. Then the men with no girls but having guns = no polar bears.
We are waiting for the aliens to come and take this evolution to the next level ...

OK, but next time lets evolve the girls just before the boys arrive!

Yes, definitely. Although that would be a different kind of beaver.

I live in Northern Illinois; we were supposed to get 88% coverage. Weather was mostly cloudy in general, and during the peak time of the eclipse we couldn't see anything. :( But there were some clear moments about a half hour before and after, so I saw about 2/3 of the sun covered going in and about 1/2 going out. Not bad, and in view of the weather anything at all was pretty good. It was very strange to see a crescent sun.
