And by the way, I've seen several visitations today after my original post, including one instance of seeing two Monarchs at the same time. Yay!

Just give the artificial trees to the illicit lumberjacks and let momma nature take care of reforestation!

Just had a thought. It's not like that happens very much. Perhaps we could show our gentility by instead of calling disruptors of the forum "trolls", those who come and criticize and then disappear forever, how about we call them myrmidons? Call them that because they deliver forumic acid.

Why not just be nice to them?

Maybe we can build a fire, sing a couple of songs, huh? Why don't we try that?

But that was the idea, treat them as the warriors who were led by Achilles.

No S'mores though, that would be treating them like children.

And I just wanted to quote a movie. Although only the second sentence are actually part of the quote.

Fine, I still say no S'mores.

Never eaten a S'more. I had to look it up to know exactly what it was.

S'more - the closest thing one can get to saying "May I please have some more of that?" when the mouth if full of the gooey but tasty mess!

A Boy Scout/Girl Guide tradition around campfire just before retiring to our tents. A lot of de-sticky-ing first though!

But I am OK with giving the interloper s'mores because if it stuck their keyboard up that would serve them right!

Swedes are such uncivilized barbarians they don't know what S'mores are without looking them up on the internet!
You don't know what it means to look into the eyes of a marshmallow, impale it on a stick, hold it over a campfire to hear it squeal while it still lives,
and put its corpse in a coffin of Hershey's chocolate encased by graham crackers. Gustavus Adolphus would die of embarrassment if he weren't already dead.

I only know what a S'more, Smoe or whatever, is because Woody and Buzz mentioned it in Toy Story. Never heard of it before and never since - until now. I suspect if you want to know who is uncivilised - eating such defenceless little things after having impaled them on a big stick and then burn't them alive - then you should look closer to home.....

Pure evil.....

That was quick, I'm impressed.

I didn't mean impressed into the British Navy, we fixed that situation long ago.

Sometime around 1812?

Warspite,

I wouldn't take a Gorn's (as a species) compliment regarding speed very seriously. They have an extremely low bar for 'fast'.

Then again, the others don't crack me up like this Gorn does, so YMMV.

For the safety of the forumites, I wanted to make sure everyone is aware of the dangerous clown sightings in the Carolinas.
Here is a pic of one of them:

RagingKrikket just posted in the Roll Call thread. Now each of us is allowed one post only in the Roll Call Thread, so if you've already posted there but want to express your loathing of the awful person known as RagingKrikket, feel free to do so here. I know I never, ever go into my backyard without a Bowie knife out of fear of the raging crickets that can be found there.

I thought it was cicadas that you had issues with?

Okay, thought for a second that I'd pissed somebody off in the space of my 8 posts last time I was around, good to hear you're just racist.

Not really - he detests all non-gorns equally!

I just saw sandman455 just posted in the roll call thread. I pay attention to that because he once posted a pic of his cat sitting on his desk looking intently at his PC screen which was showing the map from the game. It was the DEI on the screen, but some other forumite took that pic and added a thought balloon for the cat which said "where the f*** are his PBYs?" That was just one of the funniest things I ever saw, anywhere. I know it's ridiculous but how could anything really be more true than that?

Would be nice to see the evidence of the event.

Wish I could provide it, the forum member list search for old posts always returns something like 'search criteria don't match something or other'.

Add in which forum the search should take place and I think you will get search results.

I'm not technologically adept enough but I'm sure this was the forum. Probably back in 2012 or before, maybe even before 2010 when I registered myself.

I planted some milkweed in my garden this year.

Young milkweed pods are delicious, parboil them to make them tender
then saute in butter or olive oil with garlic and a bit of salt.
