Stay at Sea/RTB

Italy
CA's in Italian Coast 4-box stay at sea.
Sparvieros to east of Bordeaux and SE of Bordeaux. Gabbiano to Gibraltar.
CA in Italian Coast to La Spezia and FTR to Milan.

Edit: A couple of changes to RTB's for the Italian aircraft in Biscay.

I do not find any instructions for returning the Italian FTR2 in the Bay of Biscay to base. Maybe it was edited out by mistake? Anyway, it would be nice if I got a return hex soon.

Otherwise, I think I will return it to a hex that I hope works good enough. Or that it can be edited to the correct hex.

South China Sea: All ships in 4-box stay at sea. CVL Hosho plus BB's Fuse, Ise and Nagato stay at sea. NAV to Hong Kong. Remaining BB's to Hainan. AMPH and TRANS to Menado

Hmm... there seems to be instructions missing for two Japanese cruisers.

Any suggestion?

Damm, they should have been staying at sea to drop to the 0-box.

Send them back to Osaka, thanks.

That might slightly affect the oil use but not the oil points. Something like 2.15 now.

Action aborted for the evening.

I was at the naval movement and tried to load both the AA and the AT onto the TRS but failed to do so. A few attempts later it seems like a unit disappeared. And I am to tired to try and figure out what happened.

I hope the action will resume tomorrow.

I didn't because by the time I'd reloaded and redone the naval move (which then went fine), I couldn't remember exactly what I'd done and in what sequence before the unit disappeared. It wouldn't have been the most useful of posts.

I finally got around to try and reduce the number of oil that went into production for CW and use resources instead. But as I changed oil to be saved it didn't free up the number of convoy points I expected.

So I tried to see what hugged up the convoy points. I couldn't find anything in the CW convoy routes so I tried France. Nothing there. US? No, not US either. So then I checked USSR in desperation. I checked their route before I begun. Both BPs where sent straight to the Arctic Ocean and nothing was changed here so I thought all would be good and the same 5 CPs convoy line was used. To my surprise the program had abandoned that route. Maybe because it was to effective. Why use 5 CPs when you can use more than twice that and take a route around half the world.

I just feel like crying. But instead I am going for a walk. Maybe this was just a bad dream and all will be well when I get back.

Looks like it's related to the Faeroes Gap blind-spot MWiF seems to have where it doesn't appear to be able to recognise and use CP points in that sea-zone.

In 1942 the Western Allies were awash with shipping and merchant sailors. They often sent vital supplies and reinforcements round the globe....rather than direct to where they were needed

This is most unwelcome....

In this game, CW has felt the weight of fighting the evil forces alone for around 2 years. No spare supplies for CW. And certainly no spare CPs.

There has been a critical shortage throughout the game. And just as there was some to spare the order to open the artic convoy came. So reinforcements of CPs have gone to that area. No point really since the game want to have the shipping through warmer waters.

Edit: Discounted the important assistance from China for effect.

Maybe we should do a work around for convoy problems (at least for games 2-4) by saving 1 BP to UK. After that we can edit save file (or ask someone to use degub tool) to add BPs and oil points to UK.

Even now we can add more saved oil to UK, just put one resource to idle and we can edit save file.

I hope we can avoid this. The convoy system has improved somewhat and it might be good enough as long as things do not get complicated.

So I suggest we wait and see.

No declarations of war.

Land: USSR, China
Naval: France, CW, USA

No Port Strikes. No naval air.

Due to political interference the submarine forces in Singapore is ordered to stay in port for one impulse.

Allied submarines sail for the Italian coast.

A massive convoy, codenamed Dervish, leaves Great Britain towards the Soviet Arctic ports.

Lots of convoy escort leave port.

Allied fleets patrol the East Med, West Med, and Cape St. Vincent.

Edit: Lots of other naval movement. Ships sailing for both Hawaii and Pago Pago. CPs leaving port and so on. I recommend a thorough check once you loaded the save.

CW activates searches in the Italian Coast. Allies decline to reinforce the sea area.

Germany can send one heave fighter to the sea area. Italy has several aircraft available as well.

Will Axis send any aircraft to the Italian Coast?
