Germany modifies deal with Italy: 8 resources, 1 oil minimum, 1 build point.

USA begins giving two oil to CW and France increase their trade deal and send two resources to CW.

USA and CW totally forget about China. They reopen the Burma Road and then does not send any resources.

Is this last turn's build program? There should be an ARM, an INF HQ and no fighter or pilot.

No. That is a error of mine.

Edit: Thank you for checking me.

Thank you.

Then I selfishly decide that we accept the honour and move first this turn.

I think all the recipients are quite happy with the 'trade' they receive so I do suspect they do not want any alterations.

Allied #1

No declarations of war.

Land: China
Combined: USSR, USA
Naval: France, CW

No Port Strikes. No naval air.

USA transport a naval bomber to Pago Pago.

CW send out almost the entire RN. And the French fleet leave the ports as well. (Although I note that the French BB in Morocco did not get the opportunity to become reorganized last turn during the oil step)

CW send a battleship fleet to the Bay of Biscay, West Med and East Med. France reinforce RN in the West Med.

CW also send a carrier fleet to the Bay of Biscay.

Plenty of convoy escorts leave port and join the convoys.

One transporter leave India, loaded with one fighter, for The Red Sea. The Queens leave Morocco for Bay of Biscay where they embark the 3rd Infantry from England. The last TRS to move is from Liverpool to Cape St Vincent and it is loaded with the brand new fighter type, Spitfire, that is hoped to be a match for the German fighters.

USSR rail Zhukov from Persia to Karelia.

I will post pictures of China next, but in the meantime the Soviets allow their Chinese Communist brothers to horde the majority of the moves. The ChiComms consolidate their tenuous defences north of Wei Ho.

This leaves just two moves for the Soviets, who begin to pour men and material into Karelia....

The Communists have stabilised the situation somewhat - although if the weather holds and the turn is long, that could quickly change....

Air re-base phase:

The British rebase
- a Spitfire to Gibraltar
- F2A to Suez.
- Blenheim bomber from Malta to Oran.

The US rebase the naval bomber to Pago Pago.

The Soviets rebase a bomber southwest of Leningrad

Back to the Axis.

No. Worst case we lose 2 units, opening up the route to Si-an/Tianshui even more. Unless we get stupid lucky we lose a unit and the other is disorganised.

The calculations on that attack aren't what you call very pretty.

Even if the Chicomm have the highest combat factor unit under the 4 factor one, they will get 11 combat factors.

The Japanese ART defend with 1, doubled for mountains and than comes the Japanese airforce, adding another 2 factors on defense, making it a 3-1 at best, when you get the fractional die roll. And that is with the best Chicomm unit in the hex (which I wouldn't put in a mountain hex at all, since it is better used in a clear hex IMHO).

So, in reality, that which looks like a nice attack, isn't, since the Chicomm puts two units at risk and might not get anything back in return.

Personally, I believe not attacking the ART is a wise decision. Now, if it would have been in a clear hex, it's a whole different story...

That risky attack so early in a long turn. Against 4 in defence, so not much chance of success either.

Edit: Or what Peter, or Rob, just said.

About attacking artillery. I thought defense value is 1 (doubled in mountains) and ground support can only give 1 point. Apparently it gives 2 points. So odds are weaker than I expected.

I believe we do some planning today as AllenK is back and there is no impulse tonight.

It is the modified combat factor of the land units that are used to limit ground support and shore bombardment.
