It is level three and there does not yet appear to be an HQ present. Am I correct in assuming that he needs both an HQ and a level four airfield for the Nell's and Betty's? I am making a major effort this early to keep the airfield from growing if not closed. Airfield Damage is holding grew from 20 to 22 last turn.

you are still carrying Buffaloes and Vindicators, you got an LSD, it was a good decision not to try to engage the KB

do you have AKEs and AO/ TKs at Raoul? if not I suggest you go to Suva instead, that way you are still far... but close

I agree moving the CV's to Land Based fighter cover at Raoul was the better play, if he came at me --- my CV's Plus 50 P-39's would have really hurt him. I have AO's at Raoul so my fuel will be topped off but the nearest AE's are at Pago Pago. There are more in route in the next five days and I will deploy two AE to Suva and one to Raoul to give me more flexibility.

Burma....

After his last attack went of at 1:6 at Mandalay (the first two were 1:2 and 1:1) he has shifted tactics. His air force is bombing the airfield to prevent fort building. My air force has been hitting his group forces which is why the odds shifted in the last attack. I don't know if we can hold Mandalay until the Oz Forces arrive in two weeks but we will see. I have another Burma BN set to arrive in three days to hold the line. I can only hold either Rangoon in the air or Mandalay and I am planning to hold Rangoon as I think this is a better area to hold the line. Even if Mandalay falls I should be able to hold Shwebo for a while.

In other news -

1) The Austrian forces have almost completed the upgrade to the 1942 squads and there are 112 in the pool.

2) The Indian forces will start to upgrade on all fronts to the 1932 squads in six days with 160 squads in the pool and another 24 coming in a convoy on two days.

As a Quick Update...

Lam0ttePicquet has been traveling as have I so the AAR fell to the way side and the turns slowed down a little bit but we should be back on track now. The only news to report is the loss of Palembang and Mandalay by the allied forces.

What does he have in Shwebo? You bomb can him for a few turns if he has powerful LCUs in good order there since you will have to make a river crossing. If he only has out of supply broken and light AV LCUs left, them press on.

I have been hitting him a little in the air but playing CAP trap games on both sides. Given what he has there an the supply issues he has to have as the roads are not open I intend to fight on.

CAP Trap went well around Rangoon...
We have been standing down and running at zero range with the air forces out of Rangoon, this turn we extended the range to Pegu and had some good timing.

Australia????

Embarking Forces on Trains to see about holding the area north of Brisbane but with most Australian forces upgraded to the 1942 AIF this could be a lot of fun!!!! I will yield Cooktown and Cairns and the area in north. I will fight to hold Townsville. Outside of Cooktown all cities are building forces with a regiment or Brigade plus Austrian AF Base force.

The Landing has begun

Does anyone have a listing of unrestricted Japanese Divisions and total Divisions available? Need to make a list and account for them?

Any thoughts on if I should move the 18th UK Division from Perth to Brisbane? Brisbane is going to be held by three Australian Infantry Brigades, engineers, AA and ART units. In Route to Townsville are the Americal Division, Three Australian Infantry Brigades, a lot of Armor and Light AA units.

I almost have an Air Bridge from Pago Pago to Australia to shuffle fighters, should be open in three days. And there are four USA Fighter ACU that will follow once it opens and one Marine Fighter ACU. Currently we just have two Australian Fighter ACU's and one USA HQ ACU at Brisbane.

The KB should be in that mass of taskforces.

Australian 1942 squads have better firepower but the A/T weapons are still not great. Make sure the Australian armoured units upgrade to at least Matildas before engaging Japanese Armour. The Marmon Harringtons are lightly armoured scout vehicles, not tanks. The 2 pounder A/T guns is OK against Japanese light tanks but iffy against the mediums ( I think their frontal armour is too thick but if the AI decides you have a side or rear shot you can knock it out).

Thanks for the details I will be posting later all of the forces that are going to shift, we are also looking at sending additional American units to this area of operations.

Australia

I am going to assume this is a full blown move to take out Australia, most likely this is just an effort to remove air bases from projecting power into the SWPAC. But better safe than sorry.

• Key point the air bridge from Pago Pago to Australia will open in five days, allowing Fighter Units to Transfer to this theater.
• There is a lot of OZ Armor units that disappear in the next 45 – 400 days some of these withdraw out of theater and are use them or lose them units.

The overall objective will be to hold the line at Townsville but if he wants to force me back to Brisbane he can do so depending on the level of force he commits. The only thing I need to be careful of is over committing to the northern fight and losing Melbourne/Sydney/Brisbane to a landing in the rear.

Cairnes
Forts Level 2(39), Port 2, airfield 2 and Supply 500. 7thLH Cav Rgt (428D) and 13th RAF Base Squad.

Clocurry
Forts Level (60) and Supply 600. 12th LH Cav Rgt (75D) and 8th Cav Recce Rgt (472D).

Townsville
Forts Level 3(54), Port 3, airfield 3 and Supply 1800. 11th Austrailian Bde, 2 CD ACU's, Townsville RAN Base Force.

Charter Towers
Forts Level 2(69), airfield 4 and Supply 300. Hobart RAFF Base Sqd and 1st LH MG Rgt(44D).

Bowen
Forts Level 2(92), Port 1, and Supply 500. Queenstown RAFF Base Sqd and 6th LH Motor Rgt.

Mackay
Forts Level 2(87), Port 1, Airfield 1 and Supply 500. 14th RAFF Base Sqd and 12th LH Cav Rgt(197D).

Rockhampton
Forts Level 2(30), Port 3, Airfield 3 and Supply 700. 17th RAFF Base Sqd and 15th LH MG Rgt(414).

There is at least a regiment of infantry and base force from Rockhampton to Brisbane building forts. From Brisbane south on all ports along the coast to Melbourne there is at least an Infantry Regiment. Melbourne and Sydney will be held by multiple Aus Inf Bdge --- Brisbane by Aus Inf Bde and the UK 18th Infantry division. All three locations have Forts in the 4 to 5 range and building as fast as possible.

From
CICPAC
to
POTUS

Please find a brief summary for the following for Pacific Theater of Operations. Elements of the Japanese Carrier Fleet has just hit Wake and appear to be off the eastern coast of Australia but hard numbers are lacking for both forces.

NEI
We expect this area to fall completely to the Japanese over the next thriy days. While Force Z has won a major navel victory early on and was able to blunt two more quick thrust for loss of only two Dutch CL’s the Repulse will be under repair in South Africa for the next thirty days, the remaining forces in Java can delay for a while but will be overwhelmed. All that remains as a fighting force is on the island of Java and it is just a matter of days or weeks until major land forces come ashore.

PHI
When supplies run out in the next 30 – 45 days, it will fall and no relief is possible. While we hold Clark and Bataan it is only a matter of time until our forces are reduced and then fall back on Bataan. Supplies are at 17K between all locations and fortifications are 3 at Bataan and 3 at Clark and building. The IJA last push went in our favor at 1:2 odds with IJA taking slightly more losses and disablements --- soon all losses will start to favor the IJA.

Singapore
We will be able to hold this area far longer than planned, all forces have fallen back to Singapore and are diggings in. Supplies are at 56K and the Forts at 2 and building. The IJA has now made its fourth push for Singapore and was pushed back with far more losses and displacements than were suffered by the allies at 1:6 odds.

Burma
The rail line and roads to Mandalay has been cut supplies are fine and if required we can support this front from the air. Neither side has a valid/active road path for supply and as long as he can’t base an air force in this area we should be able to hold as forces take positions in the jungle to allow the forces around Rangoon to pull out when required. Elements of the I AUS Corps are in route to Shwebo, we need to have enough pressure in the northern area to allow the forces from Rangoon to fallback once the time is right.

We may lose the forces that currently have stopped the IJA cold at Pegu/Rangoon but plan is to use the British 7th Armored Brigade to cover the final withdrawal. The forces that are holding Pegu should be able to hold as along as supply holds out (40K) and the air force can contest the skies to allow supply runs. We are currently trading airframes at a 2:1 or 3:1 but there have not been any air battels in the last week, airframes pools are growing for all but the British forces which are just barley keeping up with losses.

Australia
Two IJA Army Divisions that took Port Moresby could be used to take territory on the eastern coast, but have not been spotted. The landings conducted so far have been –

Normanton - 1st Sasebo SNLF Coy
Cooktown – Unknown but suspected to be light forces.
Cairns – 146th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Regiment & 1st Ind Engineer Regiment.

At this point the landings are either (1) Simply to deny me the user of the northern airbases or (2) It’s a trap!!!! ----To allow me to over commit to the north. Forces are now in route and assembling at Townsville to march north and retake these bases. However, great care if being given to the lines of retreat and the defense of Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

As the existing USA Fighter ACU withdrew this month, efforts are underway to bring three US ACU’s to the area for replacement. These forces should arrive in the next five to seven days.

As always……

If you can slip occasional supply single vessels into Singapore you can hold out far longer as he has not committed the amount of troops to take and as he has only 2 Divisions and several Regts. Regts fight worse when not combined into the Division and this will cause him more losses in the long run.

I have been able to get supplies in from time to time but it is getting harder as the has started to tighten the air search in the area. The good news is we just raised the supplies this turn from 56K to 58K with a blockage running getting though.

I agree but with the KB off the east coast of Australia and still having not gotten the fighters upgraded it was tine to pull the Sir Robin with the Fleet again.

No argument from me about pulling back. That was a good strike spoiled a bit by random weather. C'est la AE!
