Comrade Stalin agrees to the offer. Considered it signed and in effect from Sep/Oct 1940 through Jul/Aug 1942. Of course, Comrade Stalin recognizes that the terms and conditions of our current non-aggression pact will remain in effect until the end of this turn (Jul/Aug 1940). After which the terms and conditions of our modified pact takes effect. Sincerely, Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Molotov, Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars and People's Commissar of Foreign Affairs of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics quote:
ORIGINAL: ashkpa To: Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Molotov, Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars and People's Commissar of Foreign Affairs of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics From: Yosuke Matsuoka, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jusanmin, Cavalier of the Order of the Sacred Treasure of the First Class Re: Offer to Extend Out Mutual Non-Aggression Pact. Your conditions seem fair and should be applied to both powers not just the Soviet Union. So, Japan can also attack any other power at any time during the 2-year extension and the Soviet Union will not intervene in any country attacked by Japan. Is this further addition acceptable? Sincerely, Pat, Administrative Secretary for Yosuke Matsuoka quote:

Comrade Stalin agrees to the 2-year extension with the stipulation that the Soviet Union is free to attack any other power at any time during the period of the extension. And with the additional stipulation that Japan would not intervene in any country attacked by the Soviet Union during this time. A second signing of a non-aggression pact between the USSR and the Empire of Japan. Looks remarkable similar to the first signing doesn't it.
