I don't see a 3 factor NAV (Ju 87R) is the Bay of Biscay. Which unit would you like to use for the combat attempt?

Nothing else flies out. I meant 3 A-S factor Stuka (Ju 87R).

Search rolls: 10 (Axis) - 2 (Allies). The allies use 4 surprise points to avoid combat.

rnd 1: engage the 0 and 1 boxes only. Think the surprise should be 8. Naval air combat. AA should be ne.
Move my attack columns up 4 to 2X 2A.
First X versus Berwick
First A versus Canberra or CP if Canberra is sunk or damaged.

I will stay for 2nd round.

Turn 15. Jan/Feb 1942. Allied #7. East Med. Non-Phasing Initiated Naval Combat. Round 1.

Brutal, but all in all the best I could hope for from the damage rolls.

East Med. Non-Phasing Initiated Naval Combat. Round 2. Search.

Axis 1, Allies 7. Instructions.

Engage the French only (2 and 3 boxes) with 8 surprise points I believe.
Naval air. Use 2 SP to move the AA down 1 column to ne.
Use 6 SP to move my attack column up 3 columns to X 2D 2A
First X versus Richelieu
2nd D (my choice) versus Richelieu if available, next choice would be a damaged CA, and last either CA available.
2nd A versus any undamaged French ship. Else versus undamaged ship with 1/2A result, damaged ship without 1/2A.

Turn 15. Jan/Feb 1942. Allied #7. East Med. Non-Phasing Initiated Naval Combat. Round 2.

The French take it on the chin. The three remaining RN ships, one of which is damaged, decide to abort the sea area. A decision, in retrospect the RN and French should have done at the end of round 1.

JF42 i9:
Germany and Italy take combined actions while Japan takes a land.
Germany moves two ships from Tangiers to the 0-box of the W. Med
Italy moved a bomber and a CP to the 0-box of the W. Med.
I am not initiating combat in the W. Med, but the FR sub will have the option. Will it?

Also, thinking of adding units to the board, right about the time that my computer crashed there were exchanges that indicated I probably should have had 4 (and maybe a 5th) MIL come on board when the reserves were called out at the beginning of this turn. I'll go back and get that information posted on Tech Board.

{edit updated the image to show the sea boxes not damage}

Yes. His sole target is the Italian CP. If applicable, he will choose a sub combat, use whatever the minimum surprise points to assure the CP is sunk, use the rest to mitigate damage to himself. Once the CP is sunk, he will stay in the sea area but will NOT commit to combat. All of these instructions assume I get very lucky ...

JF42 i9:
The French sub had gotten detailed orders on how to deal with the Italian supply convoys, however when they came up to periscope depth, they found themselves in the middle of the Italian fleet. They managed to slightly damage the Italian BB Littorio, but smart damage control allowed the ship to remain on station.
Now in game terms:
Search rolls 4/10
Axis made it a surface combat with 10 SP.
Spent 2 SP to reduce the axis damage to an A.
Spent 8 SP to increase the allied damage to 2X, guaranteeing the destruction of the sub.

Two attacks. Results were good enough though a division was lost and all my shore bombardment was utilized.

JF42 i9: EOT roll
Continues the theme of this game - poor attack weather, long turns.
Turn went well, Singapore fell. The last of the NEI oil was captured. And I have landed in the Philippines.
In Europe the main focus was on securing some supply into N. Africa and rebasing aircraft towards the East Front.

Turn 15. Jan/Feb 1942. Japanese MIL Units.

In technical terms I'm giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

However, in the spirit of good sportsmanship I edited our game file and put four Japanese MIL units from, Kyoto, Nagoya, Taihoku and Fukuoka back on the board, disorganized and in their respective cities.

Turn 15. Jan/Feb 1942. Allied #12. USN. China Sea.

USN F-boats find and surprise "unescorted" Japanese convoys in stormy seas. The US chooses to isolate box 0, which gives them 9 surprise. Interesting, using 0 surprise points to increase the attack odds the losses would have been 2 CPs sunk and 2 aborted, or 5 in total disrupted. If the USA has used all 9 surprise points to increase their attack odds this would have resulted in 4 CPs sunk and 0 aborted, or 4 in total disrupted. Wanting to fist maximize the number of CP's disrupted and then secondly the number sunk the "sweet" spot was to use 4 of the 9 surprise points, in effect wasted 5, which resulted in 3 CP's sunk and 2 aborted. Interesting how surprise points in a sub combat against unescorted CP's have such a minor impact on disruption, well at least for this case.

The USN subs stay and hope for a round 2.

Will the Japanese stay and risk a round 2?
