In the center many enemy tanks and LVT's are spotted, in the center and north B-man seems strong.

In the city, fire and smoke is everywhere some LVT's get killed and there is much close fighting. The city seems to be the major battle.

Back to you B-man

We are losing our hold of the city. The enemy commander, true to his fashion, has decided to send in armored units for their usual hit and run tactics. We lose some LVTs but gain valuable information. I'm afraid we'll lose a lot more now, though.

The Evil Marines are equipped with the dreaded Thompson gun, which gives them a clear advantage in close fighting over our own BAR POS guns. And close fighting is what it's all about.

Center sector sees almost no activity as the everyone is just busy milling about doing nothing. What ARE the purpose of these LVT things anyway? I have a million of them but they're good for nothing.

Apart from the enemy tanks in the north, we have located another bunch of treaded hulks trying to outflank us in the south. So far they have annihilated our scouts, but we'll see if we can put up a fight. Shermans are nothing to worry about, but what happens when you've only got Shermans yourself?

I've left alot of unit stranded withing enemy LOS, so we expect casualties to rise. V-man is using his usual 'wave' tactic - push forward with many armored units, hit what you can and retreat into the smoke.

Some street fighting indeed. The whole city center is now engulfed in close-combat fighting backed by artillery and AFVs.

We're just trying to hold on to what we've got. Combat results still favor the V-man, as a Churchill fails to kill a Wolverine but get squished in return. Those things are WAY to good, IMO. The 'willy meter' has been going off for some turns now in our central sector, and we located the source via some jeep scouting. The Long Range squad is killed, but the Willy meter is still active. More infiltrators...

The enemy is making a push in the city south and center, and we are hard pressed to hold them back. His LVTs seem almost invulnerable to close attacks. We manage to hold on and the bad guys loses a Sherman III and some misc. scouts and stuff.

In the center we are making probing attacks on the reservoir. A well hidden LVT4 lying in ambush is finally disposed of - it was extremely difficult to find LOS to that SOB.

Finally, we make some move in the south, where we suspect the enemy has outflanked us. Willy bumps everywhere, but we can't see the spotter on the hill. Yet another LR patrol is found and treated with biscuits. 76mm HE biscuits that is.

V-man, this is turn 10, so reinforcements are all go. Please keep your requests within your original OOB.

Now as far a the game, some tank kills that turn, a firefly, two achillies, a Sherman, a heavy armored car and a reece tank thing with a .50 cal

Pushed some infantry back as well but my loses may be just as heavy you have lots of tanks I have not been able to locate

Back on track... with a somewhat quirky installation. This will be the last game I play in the 'old' H2H, so I think we can live with it.

The norseman's last push has broken through my defenses in the northern part of the city and we now run a serious risk of getting trapped. Almost no AT defenses left so what arty we have available is directed towards the area. Looking grim indeed, we hear tanks rolling through the streets....and they are not ours. :(

Well, you just have to open up the turn to find most of my tanks. ;) I had no choice but to leave them out in the open, my only hope is that I can outnumber you in some way.

No progress to talk about. We are trying to consolidate our positions while remaining somewhat mobile. Separate kills here and there.

F9 :(

Sorry JJ, I had to give it up! Nice play, another thrashing for me.

A few excuses:

#1) OK, I did line up a shooting gallery with my tanks last turn, but I didn't expect ALL of them to be destroyed with almost no losses to V2's forces. (How do you DO that?!! They sure had overwatch....). North and south flanks are gone in TWO turns.

#2) Force composition. Sorry Lars, but it's hard to fight in close quarters when half of your units are MMG's. No hand grenades, and their size make it likely for them to withdraw/be killed. Also, Firefly IC vs. Firefly VC makes a difference...

#3) Slow reinforcements. They are still 2 turns away, and at turn 14 they won't help. My artillery is out of ammo since 4 turns back.

#4) I suck

#5) Frustration over V2's excellent opfire! ONE return fire usually ends up with 2-4 dead guys for me, no matter the 2% hit chance.

#6) Extremely poor hit/kill ratio. I don't think I've been able to kill ONE single tank on first shot. I don't move my tanks, they are unsurpressed, the hit and they STILL don't kill until 4th shot or something.

#7) I want to clear out the old H2H install on my comp. :p

So, in all a bit of a bitter resigning... I must learn this game alot better, I can't for my life figure out how to be able to hit-and-run JJ style, since I have to use ALL my friggin shots to even hit ONCE. I think my comp is possessed. And what I like to know most of all - how do you manage to virtually destroy the engaged units?! How many unit/shots do you assign for a particular target? And HOW can you get them in range so fast?

My password was "Culpepper"

I can't control Op Fire it happens on your turn, so can't help you there.

Tanks: I thought the tank were fairly even, why didn't you use the flame tanks in the city or the woods ? Those Crocodiles are very dangerous and have heavy armor.

The shooting gallery you lined up had tanks on three sides of it, multiple MG hit those tanks first. On the replay I don't think you are seeing everything I put lots of shots into them. Never allow something shooting at you tofire at the same target twice alternate the target it has to aquire.

Game set up: For some reason my troop were not allowed to assault, when I figure out they couldn't assault

I had to change my tactics, I'm very thin in the city. I have several tanks who's main gun is dead. My reinforcment arrived so that was making a difference. I didn't by much just ammo boxes and ammo trucks, but they arrived right away.

That was poor planning on my part. I regarded the Crocodiles as beeing too slow to keep up with my motorized assault into the city. When I found (and killed) your first Sherman Flame in there I realized my mistake, but then it was a bit late. :p

Ah. I didn't realize they were surrounded. I thought I had outflanked you nicely. Then again, I *hate* the fact that MGs can suppress tanks and thus drain opfire. I've never learned to use it to my own advantage. (maybe because I play GE a lot and thus don't get much of the heavy MG...)
