August 12, 1945. Troops try a sneak attack at Gunzan. It is almost successful.

The allies do a deliberate attack at Gunzan on August 13 and meet a wall of steel.

The 14th is mostly quiet. The only direct attack happened at Chihfeng and was at 1-1 although forts were dropped.

On August 16, 1945 all available bombardment task forces hit Kaishu. This is followed by a large number of amphibious forces all with guns, mortars, rockets and other landing assault guns.

MrKane shock attacks at Gunzan where a fragment of a parachute unit defends with predictable results.

Japanese bombardment goes in showing force strengths on the beach at Kaishu. 13 amphibious assault units delivered the troops which are for the most part prepped 100% for Kaishu. There is a command HQ at Tsingtao and the invasion was assisted by an amphibious HQ corps making sure the troops got on the beach in good condition.

August 17, 1945

13 amphibious transports dropped off troops but only 12 groups retreated. I remember deciding to deal with the one with the most supply left later and simply never told it to stop unloading. A bunch of Kamakazi's manage to tear it up pretty good before the KB group that just showed up off the east coast finished it off.

Little mistake, big consequences. At this point it doesnt really matter though. I have enough transports to get the job done. No troops were harmed in the carnage except the ship captains ;]

I was worried about a KB strike so my carriers are out of range of the east coast of Korea as far as a strike is concerned.

Several huge attacks go in at Voroshilov where a bunch of my fighters are based. MrKane attacked in a previous turn and was going to continue.

The airfield was not in bad condition so I threw up all the CAP I could manage.

This turn the weather, detection or other issues must have affected the Japanese because his CAP did little to defend the bombers.

This is one of the few times I have come out ahead.

A kamakazi group also takes out a small TF of LCI's near Gunzan. There is a division that I was planning on unloading to block troops from getting back north but eventually decided to abort and not lose the division as a sacrifice.

Some troops got killed here but not a significant amount.

First attack goes in at Kaishu. Results are promising. Plan to rest a day or two and then re-attack.

Liaoyuan had 1 unit defending about a week ago. There has been a rapid buildup of troops in the hex.

August 18, 1945.

Bombing runs go in on Kaishu. This one was well coordinated for once and met light CAP.

I thought that I had put my troops on rest this turn but it appears I screwed that up. Kaishu falls.

This is the luckiest any night attack has gotten in a long while. They seem to be particularly unsuccessful in this game.

The only large attack goes in at Liaoyuan and is pretty successful. No supply or movement malus but he took a real hit in the adjusted AV.

Welcome back! Good to see your still posting.
Last game date I could find was August 18/45. Did the game move on much from there or did it just stall out for a while?

The game has been moving along at about a turn a day for a while. I am 2 months behind in posting. Trying to go back and get it documented as some people may be interested in the Russia campaign as they are relatively rare. Current date has me prepping for invasion of the home islands ;]

I manage to catch the 3rd tank division and a few brigades in either Strat or Move mode and just barely get him to retreat. This one probably hurt.
