Haven't got it yet. Will let you know when we start testing.

Just put it out here for all of us as a beta patch. I'm sure plenty of people will help test it.

I persuaded my boss to buy this game and promised it would be ready to play soon. Now I am worried he will start making unfavorable comparisons with my performance at work.

Hello

What is the problem with getting multiplayer up and running? It's been 3 months since the game was released and it was promised within "weeks" of the release of the game.

Apologies everyone, between getting quite sick, the holidays and then some technical issues, this has taken longer than even I would have preferred but on a more positive note we should have something soon as it is just wrapping up on our end.

I appreciate everyone's patience and apologize again for the delay.

Hubert

+1 Take the time to get things right and remember that your health is the first priority.

Hello Hubert.

I am with the rest of the folks posting here that health comes first. But I will hazard to ask based on your reply here what does soon mean? What is the technical issue that needs to be fixed? Surely multiplayer is not something new and difficult for Slitherine or Matrix to make operational? What is the issue really?

Unforeseen technical issues on my end (having my code and saved game files play nice with the PBEM++ server) that unfortunately took time to resolve, but all sorted out now which finally allowed us to move forward.

I feel your pain! Software-hardware integration can be a real bee-otch to remedy, the reason all my hair fell out!

Appreciate the news, I forgot that Strategic Command 1/2 both were not built around a Server. Once up this will make it easier for us but not likely for you guys programming it now in this format. AGEOD could take a lesson from you guys as it is clunky and very easy to lose turns in the Mix.

Barbarossa/Commander The Great War both use this new Method and it's just easy on the player to keep track of their games. Hope you got healthy and stay healthy we want a Strategic Command 4-5-6-7 Or else :P

I'm downloading the MP test now.
Gonna play vs myself as I have more then one copy of the game.
I predict a glorious victory for myself.

Wait, if you play vs yourself, shouldn't that be a stalemate? xD

IMPORTANT!

We are in the process of delivering the final release master for Strategic Command....

So, does this mean the game will be released on Steam when the final release master is completed?

Thanks.

Hi all,

About the Steam version of Strategic Command, it is definitely in our pipeline. We cannot say any real ETA for it, but it won't be a matter of days, I fear.

Forgive my ignorance but what difference will there be between the Steam version and the one I downloaded from Matrix Games?

There will be no real difference and from a user experience they will be the same game. Also, players with Steam copies can play PBEM with people who have Matrix copies and vice versa.

Thanks for the clarification on that Hubert. I was initially confused about why those who already own the game are keen to see it on steam...I suppose once is on steam, it will just increase the potential players so happy days!
