Home Islands without Hokkaido. I'm working to improve Resource levels, so I have many, many Cargo TFs on the move.

Aircraft: I don't know this mod, so I have no idea of what aircraft does what. But I do know this: the IJ economy cannot support the variety and flexibility of the allies. The allies can afford to have idle AC factories, IJ cannot. Every AC factory built needs to be run 100% of the time flat out, or you wasted supply/HI building it. Further, IJ doesn't have spare air groups that can be set up and conserved to run a special ops mission, IJ needs every airgroup available to fly a primary mission every turn. Doesn't mean they fly every turn, IJ cannot afford that either. But, to support a key objective, every airgroup needs to be ready to fly in support of that objective.

Next, the IJ can only build so many aircraft the entire war. The amount of HI that the IJ will produce between 41 to 46 is calculable, it is finite. So, how many A6M do you want to build giving up an A7M? How many Ki-43 instead of Ki-84? It is very easy to overbuild between 41 and 44 as the IJ. There are currently several active AAR's where the IJ is short of supply ... the outcome of over building early. As Mike used to say: build each factory one at a time. Be sure you really need it before you commit to it. Each factory that you build will keep an ID in the field for almost 2 months ... in combat for about a week. Every IJ player who gets to '45 always wishes they had more supply ... My supply target for 6/44 is 10M minimum ... my stretch goal is 15M (never been close as it would mean saving 15K/day, but I can dream), but I hit +10M. For you to hit 10M, you would need to be banking ~12K/day from now on .... your recent 14 day avg is 7.1K/day which would have you ending up with 7.5M supply 6/44. 2.5M supply is roughly 50 ID's in combat for 50 weeks or 10,000 sorties per day for 250 days. Just some numbers for you to play with ...

Meanwhile, the morning of the 30th sees an invasion force off Christmas Island. The Emily at Tabiteuea didn't have their range high enough to see anything. They are joint by the Zero and Nell groups after the fact.

Observation - Brian had the operations in NW Oz kick off a turn or two before this invasion. File that info away for later.

July 1st - NW corner of Australia: Brian sends both CV TF at full speed to west and WWS. My orders are now to order KB-4 to full speed due south. "IF" I had done so last turn, I would have been about 5 hexes from the Brit CVs. Crossing fingers that Brian now heads south to fuel at Perth.

Ooof. 3 Torps hit? Brit CVs are good for bomb soaking (armored flight decks and all) but torps will sink just as fast as anything else. I guess you put Haruna in the TF as a bomb sponge? She's a good bit faster than the Hiyo class. Kind of an odd choice but I'm not a Japanese player.

NICE! His CAP total sure seems WAY LOW. Good to see some of the Allied player toys (Ely and Langley) getting used (and hit...).

July 3th: KB-4 moved 8 hexes south while Brian sent the survivable ships due west and the heavily damaged only 2 hexes NW. This put me 8 hexes away and just 15 Vals flew and got a bomb hit each on Formidable and Illustrious. I had to refuel at sea this orders phase so I'll head NW in pursuit.

Nagasaki: CVL Ryuho arrives!! 4 DDs from Batavia will arrive here next turn to escort her over to Java to join KB-4

Kobe: This is where parts of KB are upgrading.

IJN large warships: Now that CVL Ryuho is built, this list shows what is left. I have 2 more Shokaku Class CVs and then 4 Shokaku-kai Class CVs. I'm accelerating at least one.

Plans: KB-1 will be Akagi, Amagi, Hiryu, & Soryu; KB-2 will be 4x Shokaku Class; KB-3 will be 4x Shokaku-kai Class. Each will have two CVL. In discussions long ago with John 3rd, a CarDiv is 2 CVs & CVL.

BTS Lite does NOT have any Yamato Class BBs. Instead, they get 4 BBs with 16" guns. Two at start and two being built.

Maybe the Aki class (although she arrives last) - I think Aki is Japanese for "Iowa".

Owari sounds even more like "Iowa" and the stats almost match Iowa - except for the crappy 25mm AAA guns instead of the great 40mm, and three knots slower max speed.

July 5th:
China - Just normal bombing runs up at Lanchow by 4x Lily groups and against his stack 1W of Paoshan (western area next to Burma) by 4x Sally groups.
India - From Cocanada, troops march west towards Madras and towards Hyderabad (want that HI).
Fiji - Brian has been building up Suva (max AF and port) with 20 LCUs, 57 ships, 60F, 65B, 62Aux AND Nadi (max Af and port) with 18 LCUs, 72 ships, 105F. The question is what to do about it?? 4 CVs are at Kobe for 6/42 upgrades. But afterwards, I should do.....????

July 6th: Same same

July 7th:
1W Paoshan - a ground bb attack shows four Chinese Corps there in hex with only 20k SL. I have one ID and 6x FA.

July 8th: Same same

July 9th:
Noumea - Brian has had 2 subs here along with at Luganville for some time. I have NavS at night and ASW during day to increase DL. A TF of 2 SC and PC have not been able to hit anything until today. SS Sculpin is hit 3x and forced to surface and sunk by gunfire. Banzai!!
1W Paoshan - my first deliberate attack come out with twice the casualties for Japan than Allies. Thankfully, I have another ID headed east from Lashio to takes its place.

July 10th: same same

July 11th:
Ellice Islands - Brian uses Fast Transport TF to land a Marine Raider on Funafuit. The other two bases auto flip in the days afterwards.
China - Lanchow and 1W of Paoshan bombed. Troops are marching towards Nanning in SW corner (3x ID, Bde, 2x FA, HQ).

July 12th:
Noumea - Second sub (S-37) is sunk by ASW in four days!!

July 13th:
India - Madras has only the static CD LCU there and I easily capture the base!

July 14th:
1W Paoshan - Brian moves in P-40s and their LRCAP shoots down 14 Sally. All groups at Mandalay are ordered to "Rest" and a few BF and AA are ordered to move up to Lashio. I have two 42 plane groups upgrading at Calcutta to Tojo that may be deployed here after they fill out.

July 15th:
Grayling gets a shot at CVL Ryukaku as KB-1 (Akagi and Amagi) head to Kobe for 8/42 upgrades. Thankfully, she misses.
