New moves from Brian: Here's the aircraft and engine production so far. I've got the production of the
Ha-5/1000 turned off so that the number in the pool will decrease somewhat.

Here's the latest economic chart. I've converted some Armaments factories to Vehicles.

new moves from Brian: One of Brian's air combat TF's ran over one of my lurking subs and the sub got a luck hit
on the Lexington with a TT. I'm thinking it's going to need some yard time.

My airstrike on the port at Wenchow ran into a CAP trap and got slaughtered. I'm going to have to sweep
Wenchow now.

My flyboys found a TF near Hong Kong and attacked it and got a lot of good hits. Some sunk ships and lots of fire.

As you can see the Auto-Convoy system isn't working as advertized. There'a very few routes being sailed and the
brunt of the routes are going to have to be manual ones.

I got tired of sitting near Port Moresby waiting for my airstrike to begin on
Port Moresby and it never happening. Weather or something. So I took on a
full tank of gas from the AO group and drove over to the coast of OZ and
launched an airstrike that got some good hits. I'm surprised by the amount
of CAP that Brian had. I'm going to have to avoid that place for sure. He's
got P-40's coming out of his ears.

Here I am on the morning of the next day setting the orders for the bombers to neval search so as not to attack
Townsville again and run through the P-40's and and flak, etc. Brian got on the stick and got some fixed-wing
assets there from the West Coast pretty quickly. Good for him.

Hey this was a great attack!

BTW, 10 P 40 downed it's a clear signal of your air superiority, I'd definitely go for it, for the P 40s (meaning: "sweep mission" in game's mechanic) and for the ships, that's great oopportunity, Brad shall have a baaaad headache out of the results......

Good news: Michael has volunteered to play the Jap part with me watching over his shoulder OR as the Allies and tutor me on what to do next, etc.
So in the long run we'll have a better game, a better gamer, and it's a win-win. Stay tuned for news.

EDIT: So the short version is that I'm sending my work-in-progress file to Michael so he can take a look around and
judge what I've done and make suggestions which I will make in my copy of the file just before I send the moves file
to Brian. I learn how to play better, Brian gets a good game, Michael get's paid 100,000.00 a year in virtual money
and so it's a win win.

Cool!

I think you mean Brian, my opponent. But about your other point, let me say
this about that: It's already too late for some follow up for a week or so
because I've already ordered the KB to rally to Rabaul for some fuel and refit
and rearm. THEN I'll go back and follow up on Cains and Townsville and I'm
not sure how safe it is to go very much further south. He may have some
significant number of SCTF ships nearby. Probably not.

New moves from Brian. The combat replay was a repeat of last turn except for the sinking of the ships. Not much
changes from one day to the next on the land. I've got 152 Nates in the pool and that's enough for my needs so
I changed one of the Nate factories to making the Oscar instead. I'd rather the training squadrons train in the
Oscar because the Oscar is a better plane and I can use it in a pinch in combat. The Nates not so much.

Of all the industry factories these three are the only ones failing. Two of them are oil refineries that have no
oil source. I wish there were a way to turn it into some other kind of factory instead of an oil refinery. Am
I supposed to ship oil to it? I think not.

Here's a list of the largest factories I have right now. The one at Balikpapan is still repairing. If the oil
well is so huge at Balikpapan then how big must the one at Palembang be? It must be a monster. I haven't
incorporated Balikpapan into the constallation of routes yet but I will. The Home islands needs that oil very
badly.

It may be because the detection level is too low and fog of war is turned on but so far the oil well at
Palembang is a 501(0) level one. That's better than nothing at all. I'll take it.

According to this engine list the Ha-42/2450 engine doesn't fit on an aircraft. It's actually used to power
those shallow-draft airboats that skim along the top 1.5 inches of the surface and can go inland onto the beach.
They are planning on making 12 of these vessels to carry troops from the disembarking nets directly onto the
dry land before disgourging the troops. Either that or they are going to be fitted to motorcycles to be used
for fast mail service between the different home islands. I'm not making any anymore and I've got 12 in inventory.
I'm thinking of using them as anchors for some of the smaller boats.

Here's me sending the 1st Raiding Force to Buna from Tokyo. It's a long trip, about two weeks give or take.
I'm allocating 4 E's as escorts but they are at the top of the list and don't show in this image. I'm
expecting Rabaul to have a working airfield before I get there but Buna will enhance Rabaul I think.

Speaking of Tokyo, how about a partial report on Tokyo right now. Here's the condition of the city itself:
it doesn't suck. And a list of the LCU's that are parked at Tokyo right now. I haven't bought out very much of
it yet but rather I'm buying them out just before they get loaded on the ship. I'm hoping I can afford all that
stuff. Shipping is the bottleneck as of late. I've got too many ships to dock them all. And you can't load
troops and all their equipment unless you're docked, I think.

I think I might get more hits per attack if I jack up the detection level higher than 2/10. So I brought in
the experts in recon and set them on the case. I'm going to do the same for Clark and Bataan.

Here's a report on W-town. I'm not exactly sure what to do with the requested amount of supplies here. I have to
share the property with other bases and they are ice-bound too and I don't want to suck all the supplies to
W-town and starve anybody else. On the other hand there's no hurry in expanding the airfield and the port is
okay the way it is and the Engineers and the CD unit there don't suck down too many supplies. They just might
survive until I can get some ships in there again. Maybe sometime this coming spring.

Every once in a while, say weekly, I need to go through all the cities, one at a time, to find those
less than nominal situations that need to be fixed. I've started with Tokyo and I'm doing that right
now and I've come to Yokohama where I've discovered about 400 AV that I can ship out to the field.
Why didn't I think of using a second port to ship people? That's why I keep losing games, I don't
think. I don't want to move then, I'll move the ships to them.

I've just now discovered that Naha has a much larger LI factory than the RES center thare can provide inputs for.
I'm going to have to ship in some RES from time to time to keep the LI going there. It's important that the LI
keep going because I need the supplies thus generated. I'm going to have to dedicate a CS route to nothing but
maintenance on the RES level at this base. From Hiroshima, it's close.

EDIT: I changed my mind, I'm going to use Kagoshima because it's closer yet. And a lot of RES from Hong Kong
and Pescadores arrives there from time to time.

Here's a location up north that doesn't have an airfield, there's nothing there except for some broken RES and LI
centers for 0(1) each. I'm not convinced that fixing the LI, so it'll produce supply will in the long run pay for
all the supply it would cost to repair the facility. There's no supply there now and this is the typical condition
of a lot of the little bases and dot hexes all over the map. Broken RES and LI and very small ones at that. Some
person went to a lot of trouble to add those. Be a shame not to repair them all. LOL.

Great gobs of green greasy gofer guts....I've discovered a Godsend. An oil refinery at Toyohara that's pumping out
supply. Now if that supply can somehow flow to the other bases in the region we're in business.

I expect Rashin to be overrun pretty much as soon as the Soviets decide when. So I'm not all that enthusiastic
about improving the facilities there. I'm considering this base a give-away location.

The next city in order is Fusan and I've just now undocked and sent on their way, two TF's bound for other
ports. And I set another TF docked to load some INF, some AA, and some AF dudes, all as
a package. I'm going to send them to a destination to be announced soon.

After getting one more ship to dock and getting the troops started loading, the docks are full and nothing else
can dock and these are the ships left over. I'm wondering how much RES they can carry but then I remembered that
tomorrow morning most of the ships loading will be loaded and can be undocked making room for these ships. What
to do? I think I'll just let them loiter for a day.

There's an awful lot of industry going on at Heijo for there to be no garrison present. IIRC there WAS a garrison
there but it got moved to Fusan in the fury that was rounding up people to move to Palembang, etc. Maybe I should
post an LCU there just because. Do the Russians have paratroops?
