Don't know if you've considered it, but if you hold any base with AF >1 in range of your northern Oz troops but lack air support, you can still fly in fighters and LRCAP your troops against his bombers for one turn, just to sting his bombers. Fly out again next turn and accept that a couple of fighters might remain behind with damage/unserviceability (which sometimes gets fixed without air support). The losses to his bombers should more than equal your fighter losses.

I've got two P-38 groups at Tennant Creek, but I've decided to use them in the sweep role because the LRCAP role is just too far from there. The closer bases are all in the red so I figure planes might not even fly missions.

One group is P-38E flown in from Melbourne, they failed to sweep the enemy LCU's near Wyndham yesterday; the other is P-38F and just upgraded at Tennant Creek a few days ago. It will be some time before that second group has enough aircraft on the line to do anything. The first group has been re-tasked to sweep Fenton where more of the Imperial CAP seems to be most recently.

The greatest danger is the Empire sweeping westward with its armoured spearhead. I'm sure he wishes to cut off the mountain redoubt from getting enough reinforcements to hold on as it did in last game. There are a number of units I could have moving to protect the Chungking plain which I am instead sending to the passes to the west.

Still quietly lurking. Cheers.

The spearhead to Chungking is also motivated to capture Chungking and prevent all reinforcements from arriving - no ?

Or at least for for most the game - when and if they flood back - they will be so weak and deficient in equipment - as to be useless.

Your Chinese divisions last game were so numerous at end game they made a huge dent. You never lost Chungking if I recall correctly.

Is you training / build up of Chinese troops in India going to be sufficient to force through to the plain ?

Hey, thanks! The article from laststandzombieisland is fascinating!

Have to be honest, I cannot find my Uboats for the Indian Ocean anywhere in the OB, though.

There, she took part in the search for German submarine U-181, a Type IXD2 U-boat hunting in the Indian Ocean.

I did lose Chungking but got it back, then came the flood of zombie unit arrivals! Preventing as many of my units as possible from digging in within the mountains is a worthy goal.

I assume the Chinese Army units alone will not be able to force the issue in Burma, but I think they will tally something like 3,000 AV when filled out so they should make a major difference.

OK, next turn. Pretty blank, though... all Imperial. The movement now underway will be the first Allied movement back into Burma.

I believe reading to many AARs confused me here. I thought you were still in northern Burma
some Chinese formations infiltrating back into India. Alas, I my mind is not what it never was.
Is there a concerted and concentrated effort to get at Paoshan? Are you able to fly supply
over the hump still? I maybe sacrificing China merely to delay the inevitable in Burma. It is
obvious he intends to take China out of the war (my game) ergo Burma with an expedition
into India to prevent the resupply over the hump. I guess common practice now. Interesting
there are no spotted IJA ground forces in the north. I would assume you have some commander
discretion recon flying from Imphal?

Not much recon across the India-Burma frontier yet. Few assets and don't want to waste them on ops losses.

With the benefit of this last turn to answer your question: yup, look at the armour trying to force the road to Paoshan! The Empire wants the mountains this game.

I figure there are very few Imperials ground assets in northern Burma.

Lots of supply being flown to Chengtu and to the mountain redoubt bases, including Paoshan and some directly to the units holding the road into Paoshan against the Imperial tanks.

Two more Chinese Army divisions will be ready to leave Calcutta within a week.

I believe the 2 pounder A/T gun is air transportable. Might be exciting to fly one unit to a base in front of the IJA tanks ...

Are you using the Lysanders for recon? All are camera equipped and serve admirably in the role. I assume
you know that, but they are great for the frontier scouting role. I let some just operate on the commanders
discretion. I see the threat now at Paoshan. Looks like a "forcible" push.

ps. I am still exploring the Intelmonkey updated version, I want to thank you for the work on this. It really
adds to my experience and has eliminated quite a bit of note taking which tended to be outdated quickly as
my diligence tended to be rather loose. I am going to try and see all the losses etc. at Clark Field and Sian
next if thats possible. Looks like it is.

The Lysanders have been training up recon pilots. They are pretty short-legged and so far the Imperials have not pushed up to the frontier (as evidenced by the absence of base-flipping).

Thanks for the kind words about Intel Monkey!
