• Rangoon airfield construction has not caught up with needs but it's moving fast and the engineers from Ramree Island will unload at Rangoon tonight. Rangoon is now way over stuffed with fighter squadrons.

• 31 miles covered toward Moulmein, still looks like 2 days from now but as units have recovered from recent combat they could move fast enough to cross the river tomorrow.

• There will be two CA squadrons bombarding Moulmein tonight, not so much in anticipation of a river crossing as much as hoping to Disrupt the AA units.

Japan, Korea, Manchuria, Russia

• Sorta quiet.

CA Shropshire firing at 5th Division
CL Kenya firing at Moulmein

• 2,958 AV at Moulmein (including a newly arrived unit). The troops are still highly disrupted. Stacking is about 190%, so supplies are registering short also. I'm sending a couple of smaller units which got worked over back to Rangoon to recuperate.

• Lots of enemy fighters and bombers at Tavoy. The cruiser bombardments (plus the solo picket) will bombard tonight (provided the cruisers just rearmed at Rangoon can make it that far).

Japan, Korea, Manchuria, Russia

• 4,018 AV at Moulmein. Disruption still too elevated, along with some degree of Fatigue, but the supply situation is much better. So... assault tomorrow. The Disruption and Fatigue are not good but will take time to remedy. The supply situation will probably be good 2 or 3 days per week when a big supply pull from Rangoon takes place. On the other days the supply penalty from the prior day will make supply short and cause a penalty in combat.

Nice, a bunch of tankers gone. If they were loaded with fuel/oil, then you could honestly state that you are having a Japanese BBQ and are cooking with gas . . .

Given that the tankers sank during the attack after one torp hit, I am guessing they were very small ones that will not be greatly missed. The bigger tankers usually have to burn a while before they sink so they are not seen to sink during the attack.

Any Japanese tanker sunk is a good one. The whales especially like it when the Tonan tankers sink!

• 555 AV on Babeldaob. Disruption is single digits, even after an Imperial air strike. That was well handled by nearby CAP, costing the Empire 20x out of 28x Ki-67-Ia (T) Peggy. Only a few dropped bombs. In two days the battleships will be back on station, but in one day they will be close enough to bombard the day after.

An aircraft carrier received enough damage that the fighters could not land back on board. This could have been from systems getting damaged from moving too much while the aircraft were aloft which then could not land on a ship nor a land base. Not all pilots are recovered.

It's really strange because there weren't any recent carrier incidents of any kind with IJN carriers.

If you captured a base with aircraft, then those would also show up as OPs losses.

Collision between a CVL and another ship, setting off explosions and fires that sank the CVL? Not sure if that would be ground losses because the ship sank or ops losses if the planes were burned up first?

• 3,375 AV at Moulmein, and supply is good (must have been a weekly supply pull) so an assault is ordered for tomorrow.

• Southeast Asia HQ has been flown into Rangoon. 14th Army HQ will be flown in next.

• I got caught being lazy about protecting supply convoys going into Rangoon.

• We are setting Malacca as a future target, aiming to cut off potential masses of troops redeploying to Singapore.

• 3,057 AV at Moulmein. Supplies are low and Disruption is high, so it will be up to a week before the next assault but we will have LST's in place at Rangoon to land supplies slightly before then, the problem being 500+ artillery pieces among Moulmein's defenders. One Chinese Army division is heading to Rangoon for recovery, which will reduce supply penalties a bit further.

• POW is at the map edge and is releasing her escorts as she continues on to Cape Town for repairs.

• Two more xAK sank today from yesterday's attack near Burma, one of which was scuttled.

• 3,188 AV at Moulmein, 67 of which will exit the hex tomorrow. Disruption is pretty good but supply is still bad although it is better than yesterday.

• A group of LST will pull in to Rangoon tomorrow. They can carry sufficient supply to make up the supply deficit of the units at Moulmein and will be used to speed the recovery-assault cycle of the units there.

• In 3 days Rangoon airfield will build to size 9, relieving the over stacking now limiting operations.

• Tomorrow and the next day the carriers will be busy covering the delivery of more base troops to Port Blair, which has ample fighters but too little air support on the ground.

• 3,206 AV at Moulmein. Supply is poor.

• The first regiment has crossed the river astride of Moulmein and will begin movement to the hex just SE of Moulmein to block retreat the retreat path there. Two more regiments will cross tomorrow and join them. Two Chinese Army divisions will cross a few days later, one of which will join them and one of which will remain astride the river to block that hex.

• Unloading of support at Port Blair goes well, and the carriers providing additional fighter cover should be free in a couple of days.

• In addition to the carriers near Port Blair soon being available to cover supply operations for the troops at Moulmein, Indomitable and Victorious are on their way from Colombo, as are Repulse and Renown, now fully repaired. Their weight of shot added to the cruiser bombardments should help the cause (but only on assault days as they cannot enter Rangoon to reload).

• Rangoon airfield complex has finally reached size 9. Work now begins on the port, but it's big enough for operations already so the dedicated engineering units are moving to Prome and Toungoo. Toungoo is 7+23%. while Prome is 3+92%.

Japan, Korea, Manchuria, Russia

• Tough waters to patrol.
