Open Leningrad offensive.

Uh, sort of on historical pace?

Nothing surrounded. that's nice.

North action

Again just terrible German moves.

New leadership up here is in big need. Tried not to move all my armor.

Now worried more tanks might get cut off

Final Gomel. made it half way.

I assume most of HYLA good troops are further north near Leningrad. Where I am clearly not near.

I had bad fuel near Kiev north. Thus barely made any advance.

Fins are on the march. I usually try and hold the far north river line as Russians. Here its been left wide open.

I'm not clear why the Germans quit, it doesn't look too bad to me. What am I missing?

Thanks for sharing your game in detail Brian.

I think you need to focus more on encirclement and destruction of Soviet forces. Hardly any unit is too small to be worth pocketing. Routing out instead of surrounding, and aiming for breakthroughs instead of pockets only plays in the hand of an aggressive forward defence. The units you pushed aside walk to the next line and everything repeats, but with more Soviets each time.

Crossing the Dnepr with Panzers South of Mogilev is questionable, as logistics there are bad, even if the railroad is repaired from Minsk.

The Panzers are spread in groups of nor more than two corps over the front, it forces the Soviet player to spread his forces thin but means you remain below the critical mass that allows bigger pockets as an be seen at Velikei Lukie at T5.

All shall be revealed in due time. And did you happen to notice that my tanks have been consistently cut off.

My resupply fuel trucks ( oh sorry, mule horses), have union rules about not galaping through enemy lines.

btw i have no idea what to do with german SU.

Mine are a mess. I have no clue where and which flak should go to whom.

and over the river.

I want to connect up with my southern troops so I can get my blue armor units, which are just north of Kiev, back north where they belong.

Final Smolensk.

I push north of Vitensk and have flank on Smolensk. Otherwise bad supply meant fixing lines and refueling

Any leaving no chance for counterattack.

I have lost a few hasty battles here and there giving Russia some wins

Middle final. I finally get my blue tank troops back north near their compadres.

Fuel bad though and supply rr still not close. Next turn must rest them or move them closer to rr.
