Fascinating too that your uncles were on different sides.

And that was a direct result of the first world war. A couple of years after that war, due to the combination of war reparation payments and crops failure due to bad weather, a famine broke out in Austria. The Dutch were aksed by the Austrian government if they could help. The Dutch than decided to invite the schoolchildren out of the large cities in Autria for a stay in the Netherlands. Of course, the teachers came too. And than, there was love between a Dutch guy and an Austrian woman.
