Happy with the intercept decisions.

Await naval combat decisions by the Japanese.

Naval Search:
Japan

There are two potential areas for action.

China Sea - the Japanese bring in no aircraft. Do the US want to commit their subs?

The subs decide the risk of friendly fire, either by or against them, on top of unfriendly fire, is just that little bit too great to raise their periscopes above the wave crests.

Naval Search:
Japan

China Sea

Axis - 1 (4 surprise points)
Allies - 3

The Japanese employ their carrier aircraft in their intended roles - the Kates and Vals as bombers and the Claude as a fighter (there is no choice for the other fighters as they don't have bombing capacity).

How do the USN intend to employ their Dauntless's (the US have 1 dedicated fighter for which there is no choice to be made).

Apart from there being far too many reds and not enough greens, it's fine.

Naval Combat (AA Subphase)

Axis - Dice of 2 and 4 mean 4 damage points - all 4 are taken from the H8K2.

Allies - Dice of 3 and 3 mean 3 damage points - all 3 are taken on the remaining bomber, leaving 2 factors.

Naval Air Combat:

The Japanese target Yorktown and she sinks on a 3

Where do the USN want to place the next one
