Ground Strike (Air to Air Subphase):

The Germans bring in a fighter west of Strasbourg. There are only two aircraft so no reason not to roll both dice at the same time. So the first attack is:

Round 1

Allied - 9 (No Effect)
Axis - 6 (DA) The French fighter is aborted

Ground Strike (Air to Air Subphase):

I've taken the order to be stop the bomber so no reason not to roll both dice at the same time*

Allied - 14 (DA) The German has to chose which aircraft to abort - the bomber is chosen on the basis that if the French fighter isn't destroyed I will abort.
Axis - 12 (AC) Nothing to clear through

*EDIT: Actually that was not true. The Germans had the choice of aborting their own fighter or bomber. If I knew the outcome of the German throw I could manipulate which aircraft to abort. As it turned out there was nothing lost. With a +3/-3 I withdraw the bomber anyway.

I'll come back to completing the table above* - the Germans withdraw as the fighter is aborted but then the Germans miss the French.

But first for some reason the program is asking if the French want to use their AA against the Ju-88 before returning to base. Do the French want to use their AA?

* Edit - no I won't because there is something screwy with the Air to Air table sticking around (or in this case even appearing)

Sorry which Junkers? The Ju-88 got through (subject to what you want to do with the AA), the Ju-87 in the Ardennes is through as it wasn't attacked and the Ju-87 west of Strasbourg refused to stick around.

WTH???? So we've moved to ground strike, meanwhile the French fighter is still over its hex....

Edit: So after the groundstrikes the French aircraft goes back but, as expected, the table never shows up.

Land Combat:

Two combats announced - the Japanese as per above and the Germans in the Ardennes.

The odds in the Ardennes are 43.5:8 (+13). The Germans bring in two bombers with 6 factors. They have three fighters that can counter intercept - a 5, a 4 and a 3.

What do the French wish to do?

Germany: Land
Italy: Land

Naval Air: None
Naval Movement: See above)

Strategic Bombing:
Japan

See above

Ground Strike: None

Rail Movement: None
Land Movement:

Germany

There is one hex left of the Maginot Line, and this is the focus for the German moves.

Italy

The Italians, supported by three German corps, continue north and west to press into France as much as the mud will allow. While Italian units and their African colonials continue to explore their new Roman Empire...

Land Combat:
Germany

Just one combat declared against Metz. The Germans bring in no aircraft or HQ Support. I decline to bring in the French bomber on behalf of the French as it makes no difference to the odds. The odds are +15. Do the French choose Blitz or Assault?

Edit: I can't save at this stage, but there is no one around and I really can't call this and whether Jp would prefer the chance to disorganise/inflict loss or to save the units from destruction. I will await an answer and re-do the turn.
