So I get this doozy of a loss.

Massive offensive CV shift all for naught. Very upset back at the HQ.

Oh and the defensive reserve comes from a different corp that had no stake in the main battle. (pet peeve #4)(not really counting) Tyronec is very good with these.

FUEL. The war runs on gasoline, petrol. If you have it your tanks can go places and do stuff. If you have it and the game says you are rationed, the we have issue that needs fix.

Here is Bobkin, with a nice supplied 56th Army with very/small mp's for his couple of attached tank corp although sitting on supplied RR line. And Bobkin being Bobkin with high leader checks.

What happened.

Well, Stalingrad just fell, and the game decided that the rest of the Russian supply system can just now go kaput.

This low MP's for the tank corp happened just around this time in the game and clearly was noticed by me.

The 3 tank corp have mp's of 10 15 and 17. We are back to middle 1941 Russian Army.

So this is the key photo of them all.

The Baku gap.

I have 2 forts placed. The one on the coast is at fort 4.

The rough hex adjacent with 2 Guards Infantry corp (#1 and #2) are at fort 3.86. I am just trying to get it to fort 4 and them move one of the Guards to the coast.

petty and stupid. Feel free to add to the description.

It was the Achilles heel of the Russian defense.

Personal take you defense of the South picture is a disaster waiting to happen..you have a massive amount of troops way west of the German advance...and another army to the far west for Grozny, completely out of position and in an area frankly no German player has an interest in going. All those units should be on the river line to the east of Grozny which you left basically open. That alone would have prevents the one turn disaster on the coast you suffered as it would have taken MP and attacks to shift even weak units all away from that river line east of Grozny.

Additionally....you have about 2 entire armies of wasted manpower hanging out still by the crimea defending real estate that is basically worthless if the German advance keeps making progress east and to the south....as they can screen all those troops off with italians and romanians and a couple weak German infantry divisions. Which are useless for taking ground anyway.

Those awesome mountain divisions= much better units not hanging out screening Romanians......Those are key units to key defense spots, not chilling out as a holding action.

Yes yes and maybe. I felt i could stretch Turonec out. and hold the Baku pass long enough to get my major troops back eats.. My mountain troops had to be where they are atm to block the mountain cross attempt.

I had plans to train many units back but my rr trrop capacity all of a sudden dropped to like 5K. This was when i fiddled with the reserve allocation. Deep near Baku, does allow major risk off the German getting cut off if I somehow can hold. Tyronec's page has more talk on what happened.

But 2 turns later my Baku defense collapsed and that was that.

so the train line to Baku gets cut and all of a sudden the trains don't work and these are the frontline mp's to Astrakhan.

One new suggestion. trains should work from a supplied port to front line troops anywhere on the map. Would help solve a few issues.

So this is the Baku photo.

It's oddly related to the last daylight photo taken of the Titanic before the fatal voyage into darkness.

Related in that my performance here is very similar to the performance of the captain of that famous ship!

Why did he not heed the iceberg warning.

Why did I stack 2 Guards units on 1 hex instead of on 2 different Baku gap hexes.

here is my tank Corp report.

Just brutal mp's for my tanks. This rr transport/ fuel supply modifier stills needs fixing. The game becomes impossible for Russians to counter the Germans.

If they don't fix, then the game is over as soon as Moscow and Stalingrad is taken. Irrespective of my stupid play.

I fight on though!!

Getting the tank corps to powerful units is a long crawl. The slow increase in national moral for 1942 and 1943 means the corps morale can bump up here and there, which should help MPs. Up to three support units can be directly attached to the corps, helping the CV a bit.

These abnormal low mp's for tank corp sitting on rr supplied is the issue. They did something to the train depot modifier and it has not been readjusted to my knowledge.
