Suspect this is a DB issue as the XQ-222 Valkyrie can be loaded onto an carrier but then refuses to launch even though it is a VSTOL aircraft. I did notice that the description for the UAV doesn't specifically say it is carrier capable either.

I didn't know it was VSTOL. It is a relatively short take off, but not sure its qualified for carrier ops. I am pretty sure you can load any aircraft on any ship that has space, but that doesn't mean you can launch it. That was a way back datapoint, so it might have changed.

I think it'd have to be set Carrier Capable in data to be able to launch.

It doesn't look like it is (as far as the database in the game is concerned). There is a link below that describes it a little though.

I'm wondering, would it be smart to put these drones on a carrier to begin with, just from a standpoint of hangar and flight deck space?

My question for these drones would be, how many would you want to use for each manned F-35 they're supposed to be working with, and how much space would that take up on the ship/s that could possibly be used for other aircraft?
