He was a brilliant man--a trailblazer in PC gaming and meaningful military simulations.

I bought all of his games that were on Talonsoft. I was struck by the similarity of those and the US Army's battalion computer battle simulation from 10 years earlier. I strongly suspect that was some of his work also. In the 80's it took a mainframe that would take up 1/4 of a '42 barracks to run the game--cables connected multiple buildings/players to the mainframe. Permanent duty NCOs operated the keyboards and mice--we just did radio commo and pointed at our monitors--very good training for battalion staff and company commands.
