I just use the term 'fire up the boilers' to indicate that there is a three day period of getting ready to ship out.

My estimate is that he has about 950 - 1050 aircraft capacity in CV and CVLs. I have about 850 in and around Kendari.
I also have some land based fighters, attack bombers, TBs, DBs and Ausi Medium bombers that carry torpedoes.
If he shows up with most or all of his CV capacity I will be in trouble, but I do have a good base to fall
back on in Lautem. I only need a turn or two to be able to get Kendari up and running with a number of fighters
to help protect things. Note that Namlea was a size 3 airbase, it has fighters and DBs available, along with
PBYs to help see.

================================================================

Landed the 9th Australian Infantry Division at Kendari
As expected there were a good amount of disabled troops
I am not sure I have enough right now to take the base. Here is
his bombardment attack

Ground combat at Kendari (70,106)

Japanese Bombardment attack

I have a small Naval Bombardment TF that will hit the base tonight
and I will let the unit try and get some of the disabled back into
fighting shape.

The entire division did unload and it has plenty of supply but I will be
landing another 12,000+ supply tonight

I am working on a response, I have options
Even though one of my modern BBs took a Torp, there are still 2 more modern
BBs in that TF, I might try and get into a surface combat.

Information to keep in mind. I sank I-30 which is a seaplane carrying sub
The lost aircraft report for today lists 2 Jakes. It looks like he is putting
Jakes on his subs. We are playing with no house rules so no fault, just info
that he has a very large search radius with his subs.

Well, something happened that I was afraid of. It may not be serious, it depends on the next few days.

Sub attack near Kendari at 71,104

Japanese Ships
SS I-11, hits 4

Allied Ships
CV Fort Sumter, Torpedo hits 2, on fire, heavy damage
CA Louisville
CA Northampton
CLAA San Juan
DD McCalla
DD Flusser
DD Smith
DD Conyngham
DD Frazier

Ammo storage explosion on CV Fort Sumter
SS I-11 launches 6 torpedoes at CV Fort Sumter

There are a lot of subs around Kendari.

CV Fort Sumpter is hurt, but if she can get to port without taking more torpedoes she should be OK.

Not much else, some bombing and such.
