I've completed this scenario in Campaign mode. What a bloodbath. This was a tough mission, but I got all 5 ships of the convoy through to the Safe zone.
I only encountered two submarines, one of which was not near the convoy, though it wiped out the Chilean surface force. An engagement with two Soviet ships destroyed over half the Brazilian force, with the Carrier left dead in the water at 98.5% damage.
I also effectively lost the French forces off Angola, with fuel largely making the French air force in Cameroon useless.
But none of that mattered, as I only got points for getting the Convoy through, and that gave me the 600 points needed to pass.
I guess I can't complain too much, but I would say:
1) Perhaps start the 3 surface forces a little closer together for better mutual support?
2) Perhaps the British Oiler reaching the Safe Zone should also count for points?
3) In the grander scheme of things, the French Operations near Angola kind of seemed not worth it. Had I known only the Convoy mattered for score, I would have been inclined to just break off the patrol and not risking such a battle against poor odds.
