Looking at previous emails concerning the problems I had with the CMO & CMANO database viewer
pics back in 2020, I wonder whether the DB viewer in CMO ( & for those of us who still like to retain
CMANO ) will in anyway be adversely affected by Mircosoft withdrawing Internet Explorer on 15th June 2022,
with no doubt many new PC's and Laptops shipped without Internet Exporer included or downloadable
anymore from Microsoft.

Here's the email I had from Support about the Database viewer needing Internet Explorers - Internet
Options - Advanced - Multimedia - Show Pictures to be ticked in order for the Database Viewer
to show photos in CMO & CMANO.

Hi ,

Thank you for contacting us. I've asked the developer to comment your report. He said the following:

"My only guess, and that's a really long shot: For the thumbnail mode we use WPF rendering,
whereas the DB viewer is an essentially an encapsulated web browser control, using the
built-in IE engine. Maybe there is an incorrect setting in his Internet Explorer installation?"

So my suggestion is to reset your Internet Explorer settings.

I have windows 11 as a clean install on a newish laptop. IE is no longer an active app. But its core components are still part of the Windows 11 OS. I have CMO and CMNAO running on it and it runs fine. DB viewer works as it should.

My understanding is it's using mshtml.dll control (basically an ie8/9ish level of embedded browser) that doesn't require IE to actually be installed for the viewer, and it ships with the game. I suspect it shouldn't be an issue. Same for the htmleditorcontrol.dll control used for editing messages\briefings etc.

Ok that's good to know particularly when using Windows 11.
