[WAD] Trouble with TV/EO weapons and boresight limits - 1/29/2022 2:48:10 PM

Looking for some assistance on how to get TV/EO weapons to be "in boresight limits". Clear skies, varied altitudes, manual attack or auto attack, I can't get the weapons to fire.

Specific Platform in the save is a SU-24 Fencer with KAB-1500Kr TV/EO weapons over Jutland, although this has happened numerous times this scenario (Baltic Fury #4).

What version of the game are you running? I believe this issue was fixed in the public beta version as of Build 1147.39?

TLDR; it's not the right weapon for that kind of target. I would recommend using the LGB version of that weapon, eg. from Chkalovsk.


The interface tells me that the target must be detected prior to firing (the weapon).



The target, an underground bunker, has no signature set. I then assume that it cannot be detected, even, seemingly, if it's set to be auto-detectable.
A surface bunker, that I placed next to the underground bunker in the editor, is detected and can be fired at.

As for the weapon itself, it seems to work as designed to me, since it's guidance is "Passive Electro Optical".


PS: what was fixed in a recent beta release was the boresight limit issue (* FIXED: Vertical boresight issue with unpowered EO-guided bombs (fixes strike tutorial issue with KAB bombs) ), which ain't what's going on here.

Claude - where it says weapon cannot detect target" for you, it says "weapon is outside boresight limit" for me. Are you sure that's not what's going on here?

I wonder if this is the issue. I'm running the latest Steam version (.37 I believe).

I would apply the update then. As stww2 have mentioned, that issue has been fixed, and you might benefit from the other improvements too.
It won't alter the fact that your EO weapon can't "see" the target, though.
