It seems I can not get the Rumanians to fly air missions. They are in range and have operational aircraft. The bombers which are close to a site bombed, haven't flown, even after exhausting all missions...

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Which HQ are they attached to? They should be attached to the HQ of the troops doing the attacking, most likely AG South.

Have you tried left clicking on a Romanian airbase and then shift right clicking on the target hex. If that fails you might need to adjust the group range settings.

That could be the issue. The units are attached to the Romanian High Command. I will give it a try, changing the HQ.

You can't seem to change any units in its chain of command from Romanian to German.

What turn is it?

What terrain is the airbase in? Must be clear, lt woods or city to fly.

What range is set for the sir units?

Some other stuff that may help.

Mostly airbases/air HQ are restricted to attachemnt to their own nationality. The same thing applies to army groups but the only none German army group is the Rum Antonescu that disbands early, releasing any units attached to it, going to the closest valid and available HQ up the chain (Rum High Command).

Frozen units cannot be reattached, including any unit attached to a frozen unit except for those attached to the Nations High Command even if it is frozen.

Turn 32, January 22, 1942, Grand Campaign
The Rumanian units in question are well suppled and in clear terrain.
From the picture above, all units in question are set to: all ranges.
The units are not frozen.

Try a differnt air op and manually pick target. Failing that move them somewhere else.
