You might want to contact your service provider, and give them the links you are having trouble with, and see what they have to say. Since you can download a bunch of download managers, firefox, and the ftp program, it does not seem you have a problem downloading in general.

Ok. I have checked all my internet options and made sure there are no proxy settings or such like. It's very strange , erspecially as other things seem to d/l ok

Halelujah !!!!

. Thanks to Reiryc's help I have now d/l'd both patches. It turned out to be windows firewall that was blocking the d/l. Many thanks to all those who offered help though

Well he had 2 firewalls going.

Mccaffee firewall and then his windows xp firewall. He disabled the mccaffee one, probably thinking that was the only firewall set up.

So we checked some settings and then checked to see if he had the windows firewall enabled. He did, so we turned it off, rebooted the computer and it worked like a charm.
