I know what you mean Hoepner.... I've learned more about the secrets of the 'R' key now, the AI still shuffles my units around - but I hope to avoid the worst gridlocks in the future! The ships are mostly fine: All my carriers except a cve and a cvl got between 2 and 10 sys damage. The 5 bb's sailing around in the Indian Ocean got between 8 and 14 sys damage. The escorts and cruisers are all fine. I've been rotating the smaller ships in and out of port. Must say the bigger ships have kept nicely in repair! Looked at my carrier fleet today: Got 300 carrier ac at Truk and 215 in the Indian Ocean. Also got over 120 trained Vals and Kates in reserve. Might have to join the two fleets together to be able to take on the US cv's when it becomes necessary. AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 06/14/42 Surface Combat Bombardments Naval bombardment of Panaji, at 17,14 - Had almost forgotten that I parked a transport TF at Panaji! Too bad Al didn't arrive one day later, the 5 bb's will arrive tomorrow Japanese aircraft no flights Japanese aircraft losses H8K Emily: 2 destroyed, 2 damaged - these are 'reserve ac' that are stuck in Panaji... Japanese Ships - moved all the damaged ships south today - mostly medium sys damage. Want to keep some here for a possible landing behind the Allied lines. A division this time Attacking force 32620 troops, 298 guns, 5 vehicles Defending force 18386 troops, 140 guns, 255 vehicles Allied ground losses: 6 casualties reported --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Situation Report Received 2 new Sally equipped Daitais today. The 54, no - 53..one was lost in transfer - bombers have been moved to Manila and will continue to India. 27 new A6M3's have been transferred to Hong Kong - also going to India. India I wish to strike against Armenabad as quickly as possible...! If captured, I will cut the enemy troops In Lucknow and Dehli off from Karachi. So 2 div's and 2 engineer regiments will work on Bombay together with air and sea bombardments. 3 div's and engineers will move against Armenabad while a covering force moves towards Dehli. The army moving up from Asansol and Jamshedpur will continue to assert pressure against the enemy aroud Lucknow. One fine day they'll all meet in Karachi for sake and corned beef Both the Kaga and Akagi are now only 1-2 days away from Singapore. They need ca 40 ac replacements - I will mostly use trained reinforcements by dividing and then disbanding carrier capable Val and Kate Daitais into the carrier air groups. Going to move 3 damaged bb's, 6 cruisers and 8 dd's to Hong Kong and Shanghai - these are my best repair yards. It's amazing - I've only lost 2 cl's and 10 dd's this far. (+ 2 cv's that is :p) My fleet is still intact! The only sad thing is that the US fleet is also in one piece..At least the RN has all but been eliminated as a force to be reckoned with in the Far East! Central/South Pacific Nothing much happening really! Al says that he has now made Tarawa impregnable..he can keep it! The 2nd Carrier Division has arrived at Truk. There are now 3 cv's, 2 cvl's and 3 cve's here together with 20 cruisers and 60 destroyers. They can have some R&R before I decide were to send them!
