Long time no turn; it has been very difficult to get started after the initial break. Must admit that the monotonousness of 1945 together with a lack of house rules and bugs makes it hard to get on with things. We will have to see how progress will be, at times it has been a relief not having to spend an hour moving shattered air units around the map every day. Strategic situation briefing There is not much to do but wait for the enemy to continue the advance; The Combined Fleet is a tiny shadow of its former self and still requires time in the repair yards before it is ready for another fleet engagement. The Yamato is repairing so sloooowly, 1-2 points per week in our largest port. Harbin is about to be assaulted; we have 6000 AP and 9 forts, but this won't help as 50 Red Army units are massing at the gates. After its fall Manchuria will be closed down due to the bug that prevents air missions in the theater. In the Home Islands most non vital industry has been closed down and the upgrade of Shinden factories together with the strain of supplying outlying islands has reduced supply levels to a low level. Still, production and number of reserve ac is adequate. The most important bases are now Formosa, the Okinawas and Iwo Jimas. The question is whether Andy will invade these or simply bypass them and land in Japan directly? No matter what he chooses, there will be a break as his shattered troops are rebuilt and reinforced in the Philippines. Our troops are still fighting in Bataan and souther parts of Luzon and there is a lot of mopping up left. India is pretty much self sustained and we have relatively strong garrisons and an Air Force presence there. Andy has to divert substantial naval and army resources to re-capture Karachi and Bombay.
