Status: offline 		Nothing much to report - Andy is pulling out the Red Army since he doesn't have enough supplies
to continue....afraid we'll never know how it would have ended if things had worked properly.

I've placed 5 Naval HQ's and 3 ARs in the biggest repair yard in Japan, and still Yamato has stayed
at 30 sys damage for a week. Another bad joke.

Otherwise I've moved as many fighters to the Home Islands as possible.
Can only afford 3-4 100% coverages and have to choose which ones to make 'bullet proof' against unescorted
B-29s.

Added another AR and a Naval HQ...

Several B-29 strikes hit Mitsubishi factories today.
I'm increasing CAP over these bases and we claimed a lot of 4Es!

Other measures include increases Mitsubishi engine production as well as conversion of Nakajima plants.
I will also stop production of transport and aux type ac with Mitsubishi engines if we run low. Can half the demand
by doing so. Most of our bomber units are already up to strength and busy training.

In total 26 B-29s were reported shot down and 122 were damaged (forgot to check how many of these crashed as well as OP losses).

A TF unloaded a small army over the size 0 atoll of Ishieak 2 hexes from Kadina.
Guess Andy will land 50k SeaBees and build the place before assaulting the Okinawas.
This process will be impossible to stop - but we can delay it.

Tankers are still breaking the blockade, some 60k oil has been unloaded this week.
Our new processing plants in Sakhalin is also yielding results and we're now able to keep the basic industry supplied.

Andy is now moving the Red Army out of Harbin. I've halted offensive actions against Vladivostok as I don't want to take
advantage of the situation. Our Panzer Army is no longer needed in Manchukuo and will be moved out. This is a powerful tactical reserve. I'm also moving aviation support to the Korean peninsula. This will provide a good base for our LBA in the coming battles. Manchukuo itself is a safe haven and training area for our bombers. The last 6 months of the war will see immense actions as the Empire throws in its last reserves! Thousands of Reppus and Shindens will contest Allied Air Supremacy while Franks, Tonys and Oscars escort our bombers.

I'm also considering to withdraw more troops from the Marianas - these islands have lost much of their importance with the fall of the major bases in Luzon.

Half the new HA class subs all but ready for delivery but they stopped at 1 days of production remaining.
Bugger...

The large sub carriers have been useful. The numerous float planes have made them excellent scouts with very
long range. They've also scored a few good hits, but are very vulnerable - so I can't really recommend sending them into
combat in 1945

Status: offline 		Today Andy sent his carriers to sweep our CAP before sending his B-29s in to hit our
Mitsubishi engines work. Lots of LR CAP Oscars moved in to support the defenders - didn't help
much against 144 Corsairs... That's my point exactly, current type of LR CAP can't be controlled
and should be abandoned altogether.

Again, with bad weather around, Andy was lucky. Had storms shut down his sweep his B-29s would have
burned. That has never happened thus far, and he's done it at least a dozen times

Our oil and resource situation remains good though, so I'm able to repair and convert a substantial
number of Mitsubishi engines. If a shortfall should occur there are many 2nd line ac that we can halt
producing for a while.

I was thinking about one thing: PUD means upgrading all ac types almost at will. I think a downgrade option
would have been perfect. All ac that have been upgraded should be possible to downgrade to the same ac types.
This would have allowed to use ac types in the pools if necessary - especially as kamikazes.

simply bypass unless he needs it - which he doesn't.

Status: offline 		If he goes for Amami which I believe is a clear piece of terrain then he can have a fighter base from which to LRCAP his invasion fleets when he makes for Kyushu. This would help him overcome his previous huge problems with trying to defend his CVs whilst also LRCAPing the invasion fleet and sweeping your defensive CAP using ONLY CV-based fighters.

If I were him Amami is a no-brainer. It has huge operational and strategic advantages ( lets him use Army fighters and pilot pools to attrit your forces while keeping his precious navy pilot pools in reserve ) BUT we've always seen AndyMac do some strange things. It is entirely possible he'll try for Okinawa itself or Kyushu itself. Still, I'd garrison Amami VERY heavily as that's the most sensible place for him to go with a view to basing army fighters and gaining air superiority over Kyushu

Think it worked - pleased with todays performance against enemy superior numbers. Too bad we're not allowed
to use Shindens speed to avoid escorts and savage bombers...but the enemy naval fighters is the most
valuable target anyway. So come si come sa...

We lost 126 fighters and claimed 155 in this first round - a good result against 123 Corsairs

Disappointing participation

In China I could get 1000 bombers to hit an AF, but in the Pacific it's plain impossible
to get even 200 bombers to sortie from one base. I've handpicked leaders, rested all units
and provided supply - but nope.

Andy is allowed to launch potentially vulnerable operations because I'm not able to properly
wield the weapons that remains.

Status: offline 		I'm taking the Imperial Guards Division back to the Home Islands.
Somehow it's never been were the toughest fighting has been.
Maybe because my opponents have always avoided the heavily fortified areas it has
been based in.

Used the 'old trick' to get a few air units with no ac and only pilots out of Naha.
Transferred in a single fragment ac of the same type and disbanded it into the skeleton
unit and flew it out.

Colombo fell today and more units in Bataan were wiped out, including the 3rd Armored.
That's good since the cadre will now rebuild faster at Nagasaki!

The Fuso and Kirishima are down to 11 sys damage, also hoping to have 2 heavy cruisers ready
within a month. The last battle line will then be reformed with Yamato at its head.
2 other damaged bb's are still far from operational with 60-70 sys damag remaining.

The results were horrible for the population, but little of military value was achieved.
The Imperial Government condemns the use of weapons of mass destruction and calls it a crime against human kind!!!

I'm not willing to burn our strategic air reserves for nothing, but some plans can be prepared.

In the final phase of the war I'm also planning a last massive kamikaze effort.

Status: offline 		Since you can't actually achieve much with proper strikes would you never consider just gathering your LBA, setting their altitude to 3000 feet or so and setting them on NAVAL SEARCH 100%. That way you will get significant attritional benefits in terms of single Betty and Helen bombers nipping out of the clouds to drop bombs on US TFs, massively reduce your losses to enemy CAP and get the chance to save up your bombers until they can actually achieve something with the more traditional mass attacks.
