I could easily see a good pilot scoring that many kills on an incoming wave of bombers.. especially fragile planes like Betties, Sallies and such... In one pass a fighter could kill 2-3 planes if he was good and had some surprise.

The numbers are a bit off I agree since pilots tend to score their kills in bunches, but in the scheme of things they could dump the whole pilot kills list and not affect the game at all.. Its just there to make the game more interesting for us.

What I think is odd, is that I had a zero group that claimed over 200 kills... Yet when you check the pilots in it, they only had like 60-70 total kills... So which is correct ? I'm sure they didn't lose enough pilots to make that much difference in their kills... Perhaps the group counts all planes killed (in air and on the ground) where pilots are only tracked by dogfighting kills.. makes sense.. an Ace is a guy who has SHOT DOWN 5 enemy planes, not blown up 5 enemy planes on the ground.. Otherwise you would have a lot of bomber aces.

Hehehehe. I believe that. I think "claimed 200" and "had 60" is about right

Are you sure he's only flown 1 mission?

For some reason not all the missions a pilot fly's are counted in the pilot info screens. I've had pilots listed with 2-3 kills, but no missions at all. So, if the pilot screen shows 1 mission.. it might be wrong..

Yup, pretty sure as his carrier got hit pretty hard after its first engagment and it now broken

These kills were against F4's, Dauntless's and Avengers at best, and and just F4's at worst (if he was escorting). Pilot kills claimed match the air losses screen exactly (which has no FOW) so he defiantely made the kills one way or another.

As I mentioned though, I have no problems with this being a 1 in a 1000 score, but I think its something to keep an eye on just in case its a little bug.

How about three kills with one shot!

I remember reading about a British pilot who attacked a group of German bombers, he shot out the right engine on the first bomber, the bomber banked turn and crashed into another bomber, peices of the two recked bombers hit a third, three birds with one stone.
