As a submarine fan I must strongly object that you didn't add similarly as for pilot aces an info chart of submarine captain aces (or submarines names with tonnage sunk)

... as we all know subs were one of the most important reasons for collapse of the IJN (especially merchants were badly hit --- therefore last two years especially IJN didn't receive enough oil for navy operations .... remember one-way ticket to hell for Yamato in 1945 around Okinawa, when it didn't have enough fuel to return to Japan in case of unlikely survival)...

oh, yeah ... wouldn't be more cool to have aces (pilots and maybe someday sub captains of IJN and USNavy mixed together).. so we could compare aces of both sides of the war...

regards ...

First i didn’t give much attention to my subs.... But now I noticed the impact of subs in the game I give it 100% attention. The Nautilus is doing a very good job in my game and it seems that some subs are better than others. I would like a score list for subs like air groups have at the moment.

I find subs essential in the war...especially agains merchant navy, therefore crippling industrial production and logistics of enemy..

I think the role of the subs (especially US) is greatly underappreciated in the 2. WW... I was hoping Matrixstuff would acknowledge that with a aces charts or something...

Yeah, an aces chart with listings of tonnage and/or sunk ships would be cool. :)

Of the changes I'd like to see that don't actually affect gameplay, this would be at the top of my list. I, too, think that some subs have been more effective than others - due to the skipper's qualities I suspect. I'm guessing aggressive skipper's are more likely get kills and surface to duke it out with the deck gun.

Unlike other players, I've reverted from human control to computer control. As I've seen in other threads, the computer seems to keep the subs in port for a long time, but I haven't had them on computer control long enough to see if R&R reaches ridiculous levels. Maybe a sub doesn't go on patrol until system damage is zero. Anyway, I've gone to computer control because I got the impression that my sub campaign was bleeding the Japanese white way too early in the war. Keeping subs constantly at sea with only a 24-hour turnaround just wasn't realistic. So I'm slowing the pace down.

What's the point of tracking ship kills by subs? I mean, the way ASW is right now subs die after their first attack. At least, Japanese subs do.

Well, my impression is that the high IJN sub losses are regarded as a bug (whether caused by overrated Allied ASW or underrated IJN subs...different story), so if this is fixed, it will make sense.

I’m Playing Allies at the moment and some Subs are doing a great job. The Nautilus did 1 run... killed 2x AK, 3x Msw, 1x AP and is heading back toward Pearl to get some new torpedoes. It would be nice to track this and send these kind of subs to your most important intercept locations

Of course the community has some other priorities at the moment but who knows how much work it to implement this.
