The essence is that there does not seem to be a way, via the Game Editor, to make a unit a "parachute unit" capable of being airdropped on an enemy base (and displaying the right airborne infantry unit symbol). At least one person in the thread above believes the data element must exist, is not exposed in the Editor, but should be. Today, the workaround is to cut-and-paste an existing parachute unit and then modify it.

I came across this when I noticed that, in scenario 2, the Japanese 1st Parachute Regiment at Miri is no longer a parachute unit! (This has been posted in the OOB thread.)

Hello...

There is a piece of data, called sym in the data base that determines if the unit is jump capable. During the final testing of the editor, the text box which allows modification of that value had the visable property set to false, on request.

I will make it visable again, so you folk can edit the value. Ok?

Bye...

Thanks Mike.

Does the sym field have any other effects apart from indicating that an LCU is jump capable?
