Somehow (I presume in your editing) - the part where Kona actually got taken is gone! We had reports on the Allies landing (or trying to), then Japanese bombardment, then - you said it was taken. Is the info classified??

Somehow, the AAR where Kona actually is taken is missing: we have reports of the Allied landing, the Japanese bombardment, and then nothing... i presume it was edited out? Is it classified?

No, I didn't post that combat report. He landed like three divisions and several raider battalions to take the place.

I still do not get landings. I bombed the port for a month and it did nothing to the cd guns in the base force. The attacks said on many of them that they destoryed guns. I bombarded the base with ships and it did nothing. I had Ca's and Cl's in the landing force and they seem to do nothing. I landed 3 preped divisions and they can't do much to 3 base forces in a level 9 fort. I can't imagine trying to take a Island with real troops and a level 9 fort. After bombing the island for at least a month on port and airfield attacks I thought maybe it would be low on supply, I guess I was wrong. I will take the Island but is will take a few weeks I think.

Some of the bigger guns were disabled, though the smaller ones were still ok. What was the prep numbers for the divisions? Weren't these the same ones that invaded Christmans Island?

Two where and 2 weren't. Two were at 100 and the other two at around 50. I think to help I am going to move in my only two combat eng. from Hawaii. I also figured to move in a HQ since I forgot to load one on that invasion that should help a little. The units are finally get there distruption down to the teens. The thing that has pissed me off the bombers on Christmas I. have not flown in a while. They are set on ground attack.

Which way will Zeta come?

I am not sure quite yet. I need to move in a couple of directions so I can get all of my air units into play. I have so many US units now and do not know what to do with them. I need to hold India for as long as I can. The British have close to 7000 assult points there now and have a ton of level 9 forts, also the jungle in Burma is going to have to be my friend.

I know what is hurting me. I am using Candian troops there. They just drink the whole time and do not fight.

India is doomed. It is a simple mathematical equation. I can send 50 divisions there if I want after finishing off Siberia. I'll also start sending out more Kwantang equipment to the Pacific to strengthen the island defenses.

In a ground war my pilots do not do much, if you put things on the islands before I get there I am in trouble. Bombing of troops and supplies does not seem to do much to me. I can only hope I can isolate some of your units and destory them with bigger units. But that is real tuff if there is a size 9 fort on a atoll.

Wow! It took about five hours to read this AAR from the page 1 to 24. I wasn't reading this before. Fascinating stuff.

It seems tide has finally changed. But India seems to be doomed and forces there could only stall Japan forces. IJN is probably too weak to counter USN forces on the Pacific. I would try starve those Japanese on those islands. Cut the supply convoys Zeta! Bomb them day and night, now when you have first bases. It's interesting to see how Japan is going to hold.

Keep up the good work both of you!

Just a question, how will you supply those 50 divisions in India? Can you trace overland or must you rely on ships?

Enough supply should get through for the initial attack. After that it can be shipped into the ports of northeastern India.

Zeta,

I think you can take a page out of Dude's book. If you just concentrate on pushing straight across the Central Pacific from Mogami Harbor (soon to be Zeta Harbor) towards Japan, you'll be able to get the strategic bomber offensive going on the home islands. And once that is underway the stratgeic points will compensate for the losses in India. And then you can gradually move out of Australia and south from the central Pacific as his bases wither on the vine due to lack of supply. Just make sure that you have overwhelming force for each of your invasions. That shouldn't be too hard.

I also think that with the losses that the IJN has suffered, you might be able to prevent him from supplying those 50 divisions by sea. Without supply, ithey're more like 12.5 divisions and you can deal with that.

What will be interesting is to see if Dude can get to auto-victory with a total victory in the land war in Asia. If knocking China, Russia and India out of the war can't get an auto-win for Japan, then that should indicate that although the land warfare model is flawed, the designers at least won't give Japan an auto-victory for it. I think Dude's Asian campaign is where he looks best -- not too many losses and a lot of territory. In the naval war, he has a few battleships left and has spent his AF on pushing his conquests. I'm interested in how quickly Zeta will roll it back.

Mr. Zeta has an interesting dilemma. He does have air superiority and control of the seas. So pushing forward quickly may be possible. However if these quick invasions find a defense stronger than expected, it could back fire. He'll lose a lot of boats to the coastal gun units and be left with units stuck in a multi-month battle far from their source of supply.

As for India, he is toast. It is just a matter of how long the campaign takes. The Commonwealth can't stand up to the combined strength of the Burma, Chinese, and Kwantang armies.

I agree. That should be alleviated once he gets a more local base he can cram with troops and supplies (Mogami Harbor), but you're right, he does need to take some care on his target selection. But the Allied player always needs to do that - I'm just suggesting that he head straight for Japan and not muck about in the South pacific.

Probably, still it's a long way from home for the Japanese and Zeta should control the sea lanes. You might have to watch your lines of supply or a Commonwealth unit might land on it and disrupt your supply lines (especially from Burma).

I am confused. How does this get rid of a mine threat? I'm pretty sure AS can't reload sub mines (at least i haven't been able to get them to). Or am i missing something?
