We are 23/01/1943, scenario 42b.
I have the Chiyoda docked at Osaka since 4 days, with 0 damage.
Osaka has 30000+ supplies.
I can’t see anything happening. What I am missing ? Is it a bug ?

If it is a conversion, you goto the ship screen and click the convert button in the lower right. The ship will go away and come back converted...coversions are't like upgrades.

The Chitose/Chiyoda and Ise/Hyuga conversions appear to be special case conversions, not like the normal AK conversions.
No conversion button shows up on the ship information screen to convert them.
They >automatically< convert after 31 Dec 1942 when (a) at anchor (not docked) in Osaka and (b) there are available Naval Shipyard Points. (manual section 13.2.3)
To stop them converting, you need to keep away from anchoring in Osaka.

I tested this by giving Osaka 500 Naval Shipyard Points on 31 Dec1942 and having the four ships at anchor in Osaka.
Ran forward one turn.
At the end of the turn, the four ships were sitting in the shipbuilding queue.

I have re-done the above test, because I started the test again with all four in a TF. disband the next day (1 Jan42), and none of the ships are getting converted.

The starting situation is that I have modified a scenario to start on 30 Dec 1942, and all four ships (Ise, Hyuga, Chitose and Chiyoda) are in Osaka.

Turn 30 Dec: I create a TF with Ise and Chitose in it in Osaka (docked), leaving other two at anchor. Run forward one day.

Turn 31 Dec: The TF with its two ships is still docked and the other two ships still are in Osaka. No change. Run forward one day.

Turn 1 Jan: The TF with its two ships is still docked. But the other two are now in the Ship Available queue (conversion in operation).
Strangely, the Ise is showing an ETA of 180 days and the Chitose of 330 days, the opposite of what the manual says.
Disbanded the TF so that the two ships are at anchor.
Ran forward one day.

Turn 2 Jan:The two ships have not converted. Even though no other ships have been put in the queue and the over 1200 Naval points available.
I will run forward to 1 Feb and see if any conversion happens, but I have the feeling that the conversion ONLY happens ON the 31 Dec 1942.

That is interresting ! Only happens ON the 31 Dec 1942 !
Damn !
That would explain why I don't see anything happening in Osaka in 1943 (While I have also plenty of Naval Shipyard points).
So it is a bug !
Will it be fixed in the next patch ???

Okay...
I have reached 1 Feb 43. And the other two ships converted on turn 31 Jan 43.

From this then, I would have to infer that the conversion occurs on the last turn of the month.
Well better than one go or your out!
