There is a 1 grade penalty for using 3 or more A Bombs. So that if you win decisively but use 3+ A bombs your victory is reduced to marginal.

So I can nuke Tokyo twice if I want to. Is there a restriction to keep me from nuking any particular city or am I stuck with the Hiroshima/Nagasaki pair?

I don't think it'll be an issue in the game I'm playing now, as I am almost even in points in Aug42. I am guessing I'll have victory by Summer 44 at this rate.

You can overide victory conditions,as I have because I wanted to do the Nuclear option. You can nuke any city that is within your aircraft range. I also invaded manland to see how difficult it would be. But if you go past Feb 1946 you lose 2 levels of victory e.g. decisive to draw and do 3 A Bombs = Jap marginal victory!

Ok, its FEB46, the Jap cities have been burned out, nuked and/or invaded, they have no industry or organized military left and they somehow manage to win?! (I guess they win because the UN would be shortly formed and strongly chide the US for going too far.)

Its a Japanese "victory" because they held out longer and fought hard enough to force the US to level the Home Islands. Basically the player would have done much better than the real Japan did before the massively overwhelming US forces buried them.

Playing the allied side. Have taken most historical objectives(not yap). Have taken most of the PI and the islands around it. Still fighting in burma and south of it.

The ai still putting up a fight(not like a human) but not bad either. Playing on hard.

Point spread is something like 43k for the japs and allied is around 57k (i think).

Playing one day turns. Once in a great while two day turns.

If the UN then was as it it is now. They would have Nimitz, MacArthur and you up on war crime charges

In current First World morality, all war is a crime. Its just that, like homicide, it is sometimes justified.

When is the argument.

I keep preaching the "winning the game" is not the same as "winning the war".

Looks like most guys are playing as the allies, any Jap players vs an Allied AI?
Was really wondering how the AI goes in an allied counter offensive, and when does it kick off?
It has been very passive late 42, but Im having a good time still trying to upgrade, train squadrons, and balance PP spending on new troops, or squadron deployment.
I also try (against the AI) to realistically rotate troops back to Japan for R and R.
I did try to take Midway in July 42, and lost badly, invasions are tricky!!!

Once I finish with the current war, I hope to reply the war as the Jap side. Hopefully, there will be the "Dec 1, 1941-march 1946" version I keep hearing about as I'd like to move on Hawaii with more than just CVs!! How about AB Kaui to keep PH busy?
