You really need to go take a couple of the pills that help you calm down. By the way, getting back to the topic of the thread, I think that demos are useful in evaluating complicated games like WitP, but only if the design team's time is not wasted by creating them. Screenshots and developer notes can help you understand how the game plays, its scale, and so on. I've never really analyzed it, but I think I make a decision on buying a computer game based on its subject matter and what I can perceive of the approach the game is taking to it. For example, HOI2 addresses a game subject that is interesting to me, but, from what I understand of the game design, I won't be buying it. The whole concept of clicking on "go," then having to scramble to see what's happening and if I need to click "stop" to give orders lost me way back in the "Carriers at War" days.
