6 Months in the war.

Who has read this AAR knows i lost tons of planes. Other losses have been modest to moderate though.
Losses
Air
Allies lost lot of airplanes. Mostly during the battles over Java and Port Moresby. I wanted to lower his "boosted" pilot pool to make it easier for me in late '42 to at least fight in even odds in the air.
This tactic worked for the JAAF, but not for IJNF. He has too many good aircrafts and top pilot. He also used them carefully (read: he always massed them to maximize kills and minimize losses). I used them carefully as well, but most of my planes in early '42 are poor and with green pilots.
Losses have been higher than i wanted. and he still has a huge pool. it will be tough to reduce his pool untill i get in mid '43.
Navy
I took the game at the end of December. I lost 2 BB and 1 CVL in India during the KB raid in February. I sunk the Hyuga though. I lost some DD and some transports (in february during the KB raid in India and in June during the KB raid south of Sidney).
However, it's not a big deal. i have tons of transports, and more i will receive. The only ships i can't afford to lose are the CV.
Many allied players make the mistake to commit what they can't afford to lose (their CVs) to try to save what they can afford to lose. Having played lot of times as Japan, and seen so many allied disasters with my KB sinking many CV, i know this is exactly what i won't do.
All my CV are upgraded. I lost none (nor i committed any).
Land
Here all went as expected. I lost the garrison in PM and the SRA troops (no evacuation to keep it historical).
I didn't lose any i wasn't expecting to lose. I moved troops in India, PH and South Pacific. I moved lot of supplies and fuel where i needed. and tons of aircrafts.

Strategic Situation
Japan is pretty much where he was in RL, except for South pac and Port Moresby.

In Burma he is obliged to commit a decent airforce to stop me bombing mandalay and akyab.
China is quiet.
Australia and New Zealand are now full of fighters. English aircrafts are upgraded. Soon i will upgrade Dutch ones (even if their pilots suck). i moved lot of squadrons in Australia and New Zealand.
Obviously i would prefer to have PM now, since i would be able to keep Rabaul under pressure as i am doing in Burma. But there is nothing Allies can do to defend PM in April. If you commit 3 divs, he will simply bring more.

May has been very quiet. let's see what Japan has in mind for the Summer. KB is south of Australia. This means that if he tries something, it will in this theater (in June i don't think Japan can afford to try anything without air cover).

Burma Area Army reports another intrusion by Commonwealth bombers into Japanese airspace over Akyab. Denfending Japanese fighters are ready for them. Intel reports indicate 25 planes were downed or crashed on return as Japanese pilots pressed home their attacks on the unescorted bombers.

A curious event in China. Yennen was abandoned by Red Chinese forces. Imperial forces have occupied the half shattered city without firing a shot.

Usual air battles over Akyab: Allies lost 25 planes while destroying around 17 on the ground.
2 ships bombed while trying to supply Akyab.

KB heading NW, prolly sad not to find another wagon of transports to sink near Noumea.

All the rest is quiet.

2 quiet days. i wonder what nik has decided to do. it's now 5 weeks he did nothing (except the KB raid.

this can mean only 2 things: either he is preparing for something big or he switched to defence.

The Real TF composition that S-39 ran into

All these extra escorts are from ports scattered around my Empire......the PC Saiko Maru for example.....is sitting currently in a CHINESE PORT!

Anyone else see a similar occurance?

Hi
did it participate in ASW attack or was it just reported in Summary?
Could be a mixup in the combat summary like when "virtual" torpedo planes attack from 2000 feet!

Yes, one of the DD's reported actually dropped DC's and hit S-39

I think this may be an old bug that was never tracked down because its so infrequent....occasionally all of Kido Butai would "ASW" a sub regardless of the ship's actual locations.

Yes....i CONFESS....my mod contains Stargate SG-1 'Gate' technology. It was hell creating a gate big enough to stuff a ship through....but i did it!

The worm inside my stomach made me do it. Uh oh....i feel him taking over

NEEL BEFORE YOUR GOD

(no stop it!)

BOW DOWN BEFORE THE ONE YOU SERVE
YOUR GOING TO GET WHAT YOU DESERVE

(oh great....now i'm channeling Trent Reznor! )
