Allied High Command ordered a pause in the air activity by allied pilots due to overwhelming odds against in the skies.
A coupe of days of rest and repair will be helpful.

EH! come out and fight you! We'll dig you out no matter where you hide! Maybe I need the Mogami propaganda network to kick in here with a few nice goadings...

I need to rest my bombers and get some replacements.

In the Battle of Java so far i i lost (have to calculate the exacxt numbers still) 300 aircrafts while shooting down 70-90.
Some rest and reinforcements are badly needed.

Question: how many pilots/month you get for Land Air force? for naby you get 50/month. for land ?

60 a month IIRC for JAAF. Interestingly, the JAAF pool has been dangerously depleted.

300ish is about what i estimated. Figured you had to be pretty tapped out at this point which is good for my troops crammed onto their AP's. Keeping up the pressure on the airfields however. The Army must grudgingly concede that the Navy has shouldered it's responsiblities well during the current operation. They are still reserving all of their commendations though for their own brave Ki-21 squadrons.

Batavia falls! Imperial forces begin their conquest of Java. No sign of enemy air activity. More PT target practice. Another Iboat captain will be beheaded for missing his target.

Imperial GHQ is pleased to announce the successful landing of the Southern prong of the Java invasion. Japanese air units continue to harrass the remaining bomber capable fields left to the remenants of the Allied air units still reputed to be stationed in the area.

Fairly quiet turn. Advance in Java continues on schedule against sporadic resistance. JAAF in China begins massive reprisal operation against Chinese industries due to similar pinprick type attacks by the Western supplied Chinese airforce.

In consequence of the loss of 2 airfields in Java and the losses of previous days, Allied Air HQ has decided the redeployment of the Air Squadrons assigned to Northern Australia.

Air supremacy by Japs in Java is now too big to be able to achieve any result (other than getting my bombers shot down ).

Imperial Intelligence would seem to confirm the recent Allied communicaque regarding the "redeployment" of the remenants of the Allied air expeditionary air force in Java. Not a plane is to be found in the air over the soon to be latest aquisition of the GEACPS. Our brave fighter pilots have had to content themselves with straffing PT boats!

Nothing much else to report. 11th Air fleet continues to chalk up B-17's from the 39th BG at PM. Advances in Sumatra and Java continue.

Japanese have been reported keep bombing:
1) PM from Rabaul
2) Darwin from CV TF
3) Java
4) Chinese Airfields

Allied AA and Allied CAP have proven successful in inflicting more kills than losses. Here's the overall summary of the last 2 days:
Allied losses: 36
Japan losses: 42

In addition, all japanese losses have been from air to air, operational and flak, meaning many pilots to replace.

My objective in the 1st Phase (dec '41 - July '42) is mainly one: to deplete the Jap Pilot Pool. Japan in this mod starts with 1000 pilots. and they receive 110 new ones every month.
So, in short, i need to kill 1700-1800 aircrafts by July. After that, all will be easier. Cause Japan will need to think twice before using KB or start any major air offensive as it will be needed to train pilots or use untrained ones. To achieve this goal, i don't care losing up to 2-3 times the same number. I have tons of pilots, he doesn't.

Reports of the demise of many Imperial pilots have been greatly exagerated. While some brave pilots have lost their lives....the Emperor realizes that you cant make an omlette without breaking a few eggs. Thx in large part to the efforts of our brave aircrews, the invasion of Java has gone about as smoothly as one can hope or expect given the level of airpower that was present on the soon to be former colonial possession.

Tokyo Rose says.....negoiate now! Dont send any more sons off to fil our POW camps!

Heavy fighting continues as Imperial troops move over to the offensive against the Dutch capital. Resistance is said to be quite fierce but already Imperial Engineers have made inroads into the Captial's defensive works. Many enemy casualties reported amoung the demoralized troops defending the captial. The Northern prong continues to sweep southward unopposed. Over 1/2 of the island prize is now under Imperial control.

Air battles continue over Yennen and Port Morosby. The elite Tainen group reports enaging Australian aircraft of a very inferior nature. Many enemy planes shot down. In the skies over Yennen, enemy air resistance has stiffened. JAAF command admits that heavy fighting with some casualties has been experienced but that the city of Yennen is in flames with panic reported in the streets. The Emperor was impressed by the brave stoicism of the dive bomber pilots who flew against the enemy despite the absense of an escort. They carried out their duty in the face of heavy losses and successfully bombed their targets.

Yankee bomber group continues to offer target practice to the Wake gun club.

Wirraway will be redeployed in Sidney as Museum attraction for the tourists given their ridicolous performance over PM.
I was hoping that you would have used less escort this time, given the fact it's 3 turns that you don't meet much resistance in PM. i was wrong.

It seems however that more eggs have been broken over Yenen skies.

More than 40 japs aircrafts have been shot down this last 2 days.

In other news, defenders in soerebaja are bravely defending against overwhelming odds (100k japs). Given the fact soon they will receive the support from the armies in the north, there are few hopes they can make it in mid April (which was my hope in Java).

bah! triffling army losses over Yennen. we have plenty of old tactical bombers.

Mid April not looking so good. Java soon to be jewel in the co-prosperity sphere.

Burma
All quiet. Retreating troop (mixed english and chinese troops) sent to defend Burma are heading towards Yunan.

China
No major air strikes for Japan after the loss of around 80 aircrafts in the last 2 days due P-40 flying Cap over Yenen.
Allied HQ expects some offensive move in the next month.

Java
Dutch regiments are holding off overwhelming Japanese army in Soerebaja but facing heavy casualties.
The Invasion army landed in Batavia is marching towards Soerebaja from the North meeting no resistance. Allied HQ deployed all troops in Java to defend Soerebaja to the Bitter end.

NG and Solomons
All quiet. Now that Japan has achieved air supremacy in Java, it is expected a redeployment of Air assets in the Solomons.
The Allied build up in the area goes on as fast as possible.

India
After the fall of Akyab 2 weeks ago and the loss of 3 BB from KB strikes (and the sinking of a Jap BB), nothing happened.
Allied HQ is redeploying some troops from USA to India. Air force in India is growing day by day. In may it is expected the availibility of upgrades for the Air assets in the theater.

I expect Java to fall by end of March. Then problably Nik will need to rest a bit his troops. Let's say 2 weeks.
So by mid April he will be ready for a new major offensive (if he chooses to).

Where? So far the Pacific has been pretty quiet. he didn't even conquer Baker. In 1 month he will meet a much stronger resistance in the air, and this time with decent aircrafts.

of course not....they are all enroute to Karachi . One reason why i didn't like the auto accelerate rule. It s the ultimate saftey net and allows Allied players to denude the rear area in favor of the forward.

The Banana knows this well......

well, look at the good side: you don't even need to spend PP to redeploy units from China to Burma . and they get there faster than my units from US coast.

Seriously, in the first year Allies haven't PP to move lot of stuff. Maybe just some air squadrons

Dont worry...i'd never do that to you.

I'm not above retaliating with a little strategic bombing though, even if it is ridiculously easy to hit them.

The end is near in Java. Imperial troops have gone over to a full fledged shock assault. The Defender's lines are giving way. Spearheads are reported within the city limits itself as fierce fighting continues. Northern pincer is now less than 120 miles away but it is looking like they will only be needed to complete the entrapment. Yennen is attacked again. Major damage is reported to her industrial areas. Port Morosby bombing continues. 4 more B-17's bite the dust.

oh Japan is careful, Japan just didn't count on bomber groups, transfering to PM the same day would be able to operate at full strike capacity. Could have sworn that there was a built in delay that prevented insta attacks of this nature but apparantly i'm wrong or outdated. I was definatley not comfortable with a LRCAP at nearly 8 hexes. I doubt it would have made much difference

Also counted on Rabaul continuing it's suppression but that backfired. ah well.....the ships were empty.
