Have to admit too......i'm wondering about the validity of having Beaufort's carry torpedoes as a default weapon. I recall there was a big flap about this back in UV days but the details escape me.

Dutch units retreating to Kragen (or whatever it is called) for a last stand.

Japanese G4M1 bombed Port Moresby again meeting no opposition by Allied fighters. But Losses are reported to be minimal

With the upcoming fall of Java, it is uncertain what will be next move of Japan.

Priorities Nik...priorities. You must get them in the right order: WiTP....WiTP.....WiTP and then everything else

I only manage to do 3 PBEM + 2 BTR games and that is only at 5 WiTP turns a week and 3/4 BTR turns a week

Well, i have no Witp test or mod testing to do. and 2 of my opponents are not very regular (1 turn every 2 days average).

And after the first 6 game months PBEM turns get faster.

how long does it take to do a PBEM turn (after first months in game i mean; first 2 months have very long turns). ?

true....someday i'll get to just sit down and enjoy the game ah well.....labor of love

I can sometimes do a turn within 20 minutes once the ball gets rolling but lately, with the SRA campaign now winding down, i'm finding myself spending more and more time on each turn....last one was almost an hour and a half!!!

lots of logistical and administrative stuff to do.......waaaaaa i wanna be allies

Imperial GHQ announces the end of fighting in Java. With the surrender of the main Dutch and Allied force there, the SRA campaign has been officially closed. A few bases remain to be mopped up but these will represent minor operations in the ongoing administration of the new territory. The Emperor is pleased overall to have seen the 1st and 2nd operational phases of the Southern Resource Area (and the PI islands) concluded in 3/42.

Only other events of note...The Allies finally decided to seriously oppose 11th air fleet forces over Port Morosby commiting an entire fighter group to the defense of the town. Heavy air battles ensued over the next two days but Imperial forces preservered and shot down many of the attacks and damaged more on the ground. At wake the ersatz Liberators of Midway once more offered themselves up for sport. 4 planes failed to return to their long distance base at midway.

Allied Report

Air Battle over PM
Major air battle over Port Moresby saw the allied fighters, for the first time since the start of the war, to be able to stop the waves of Japanese zeros.

More than 50 enemy aircrafts have been reported shot down, with only 30 losses. More battles over the skies of PM are expected in following days. Allies have huge reserves of squadrons in the coast of Australia to keep the losses for the Japanese squadrons high.

Fall of Java
Last defenders in Java surrendered today to overwhelming Japanese armies. A big thank goes to the brave soldiers who fighted and died to defend Java Island.

The Allies had been getting a little cocky of late with thier subs, sending them into port or shallow hexes outside of a port. Finally nailed one such intruder.

Nothing to Report this turn.

Raids over PM stopped these last 2 days. Guess Japs are licking their wounds and preparing bigger strikes next days.

Yenan is still under strategic bombing. there is nothing i can do to stop them. they using zeros, still with their bonus (even if reduced).

In last 4 days i lost 110 aircrafts killing 90 enemy aircrafts. It's a good attrition war for the allies.

I am aware that if you really wants PM there is nothing i can do to stop you in april/may. i can just make you pay for it.

Nothing much to report this turn. Mopping up in the SRA continues. The JAAF retaliatory air offensive against the outlaw Chinese forces has been completed with Yennen's supply generating sources laid waste. That'll teach em to bomb innocent Chinese citizens under the benevelent guiding hand of the Emperor. Oh yeah....NEENER too!

hmmmm, to be safe i'd better have two lists.

Official Priority List (the one the Girlfriend sees)

1. Girlfriend
2. WitP - job Testing
3. Chores
4. WitP - mod testing
5. Work
6. WitP - PBEM play
7. Horse
8. WitP - solo play

Secret Priority list (when girlfriend is not looking)

1. Girlfriend (while secretly tesitng WitP on laptop)
2. Chores (while secretly testing WitP mod)
3. Work (while secretly posting on WitP forum)
4. Girlfriend (while going to bathroom and then detouring to computer room to do a PBEM turn)
5. Walk the dog (while lugging laptop to coffee shop to play a turn)
6. TV time with girlfriend (while running tests on WitP with laptop behind a fake screen saver)

LOL. I think the secret priority list sounds better
