I started the game and sent it on like I was supposed to.
Did I get overtaken by events? (Sob)

I had
Faron on Austria
Krec on Brit
Ralegh on France
Cyrano on Prussia
Cbpraem on Ottomans
larizona55 on Russia
Jstransue on Sweden
Hoplosternum on Spain

Who knows I shall see whether the turn appears with me as Spain or Russia and be happy to play either

I think we should stick to the original set up. People cannot be expected to look at the thread everyday over the length of the game. But I shall see what I get!

Ohh i didn't get that. Well send me a message if im in as turkey

Hi,

I'm not running the game so it was just a suggestion on which set of players we should go with not a demand If there is no Turkey I cannot see why you can't play.

Larry seems to have gone with the original set up anyway in which there already was a Turkey. But we will see I am sure there are going to be a lot of games starting to see how it goes. In a game like this (and EiA) due to the diplomacy aspects these are always going to be better the more human players you have.

Krec, you should have a file from Raleigh, by your post, I guess you don't.
If not, I am tired of waiting, you can use the file I sent you this morning.

Hoplosternum, you can play Turkey.

I'm not exactly sure what is happening. Am i in or not as Turkey. If so we need some kind of Absolute list of who is in, with email, and which order we have so we can send the turn to the next on the list, otherwise it will not be possible to keep the pace of the game.

I can make a series of filters on a gmail adress i have. It means that everybody can send to the same adress

coggamemail1@gmail.com,

and if you have an attachment and the word 2ndwar written in your Subject field, your turn is, based on the above criterias and your emailadress, automatically forwarded to the next on the list, the filters can be altered during the game if another person is taking over, i just need the persons email adress. Then it is also always possible for others to see where the turn is.

Do you think people can administer a joint emailadress. Maybe it is only for an elect 2 or 3 players in the game so if somebody goes on holiday another can check the turn progress.

That sounds good if it works. But you only have to remember the email address of the one player that plays after you anyway. Presumably people will have been using some diplomacy anyway.

I don't know i got 2 mails

and another one saying i could send the turn to him and his email adress.

It works, and i know you only have to remember the mail of the one just after you. But i see a challenge in simplifying the process, and it also allows for players to see where the turn is right now. And later on when you play your pbem game number 5 or you play 3 at the same time, if the only thing you have to remember is one email and the indentifier of the game i think it would be quite a bit easier.

OK, here is what I have. We are still waiting for the first move, sounds like an email mix-up of sorts. Anyway, the Brits should have their turn today.

With regards to players here is what I have in order. This is pretty much the same as the first list, but kimsand is playing Turkey.

France - Raleigh Steve (steve@rosesolutions.com)
Britain - Krec (kevyrec@sbcglobal.net)
Sweden - jstransue ( jstran93@yahoo.com)
Prussia - Cyrano Jim (thegasconaty@yahoo.com) I think thats it.
Austiria - Basilhare Faron (faronbell@cox.net)
Russia - larizona55 Larry (larizona55@yahoo.com)
Turkey - kimsand (kimsandberg123@hotmail.com
Spain - hoplosternum hoplosternum@hotmail.com

Once we get through a turn or two, things should go smoothly...

Trade routes are now open for Russian Vodka!

Regards
Larry

Great larizona55, can you change my adress to kimsandberg123@gmail.com. I have created the filters on the mail adress the way i described before, if we want to use it.

Thanks, jim. Long live Russia!

Turn has been forwarded to both the filter address and Larry's (Russia) e-mail....wasnt sure if we are using the filter or how that works exactly.

Anyone know if the PBEM turns have a replay feature and how to activate it?

Maybe that is what the .rep file is for???

Thanks,
faron (Austria)

Use the one Larizona55 sent you...the one with your country name in the filename....I misunderstood the whole filter thing and probably sent Russias turn to you by mistake...sorry....I assume we are not using the filter described above???

Thanks...faron.

Seem to have a corrupt file. I have ericbabe looking at it to see if there is somethign that can be tightened up in a patch to prevent this. In the meantime, I have asked Will to redo his turn and send to me again.

Well, ideally you pick someone to take your turns for you, and tell them your password and give them some instructions. (After you come back, or if you find you have sufficient access while away, you change your password.) ...
