ORIGINAL: KG Erwin Well, here it is: "Alright, alright-- look, the comments by certain members about the superiority of another OOB set over 8.3, which many of us worked many hours on, just rubbed me the wrong way. It also seems odd to me that jabs taken at Matrix are perfectly fine, but the Depot tends to circle the wagons when any hint of criticism is directed this way. Is that not a double standard? Right now, I'm assisting in testing the new mech.exe patch, which will be excellent once it's done. I regard this as an honor and a privilege, and I've been trying to help in passing along suggested changes. This may end up being a no-win situation for me -- hell, even my wife wondered why I'd want to get reinstated (at the Depot). As for "secret societies" -- my God, how often did the Matrix OOB Teams get accused of being "SWAGs"? As a (Matrix) moderator, I took repeated personal insults 'till I couldn't stand it anymore. Unfortunately, all this stuff has followed me, so this is why I suggested some personal conversations could help resolve some long-standing issues which need to be put to rest. What do you want me to do? A permanent banning solves nothing -- it only leaves a cloud hanging over the relations between the Depot and Matrix." PS: To an outside observer, all of this would seem bizarre, to say the least. However, the simple perception of a rift is enough to keep new players away from the game, and by extension, prevent them from registering at the forums. First off Glenn, Matrix and the Depot get along just fine: Bernie and David Heath have spoken many times and say nothing but 'good' about the other. Is it OK if I label this 'delusion number 1'? Next, nobody is questioning the time/commitment put into the 8.3 OOBs, but if you took the time to 'ask around' you'll discover that they are not generally thought of as 'superior'. They have numerous inconsistencies and errors, and from what I can see they have been 'abandoned' in that none of the original team is addressing the needed 'fixes'. Since no one is 'standing behind them', I have no idea who you think you are 'defending'....and simply bad-mouthing anyone who now attempts to do the work necessary to fix them is a pretty poor 'defense' IMO. Matrix Games has always directed customers to its forums to 'find answers to problems'....hell, we used to joke that we were tech-support. Lately the number of 'gurus' found here regularly is lower than it was in the past, so of course the number of 'unanswered' questions/complaints is higher. Instead of accusing someone who seeks answers here of being 'disloyal', have you considered helping them find an answer? On the flip-side, the only steady source of public 'anti-Depot' comments that I know of is you....and by your own admission they are all based on 'feelings' that you have, not facts. Can we finally put this argument 'to bed'?? And in regards to your P.S.: (choke-cough-cough!) What??? The only 'voice of disharmony' that they hear is yours! And I'm not talking about 'disagreements' or 'differences of opinion' Glenn, you keep making these broad accusations of 'evil against SPWAW' and direct them at a large portion of the community. Worse, it is only the newer members who might think such posts are anything more than personal suspicions based falsehoods. When we lifted your ban at the Depot, you assured me (and posted publicly) that you now saw how rediculous those ideas were...what brought on this relapse in judgement? Man, its getting close to the point where my replies to you will begin with "Do I know you?".
