greetings,

nothing wrong with that. I was refering to house rules. Since you don't have to be afraid of Japanese invasion on Karachi you don't need to have fleet there and you can send it where you want.

Like Sneer pointed it is hard to imagine that Brits would send fleet to pacific while India is threaten.

It was only the observation, not complain.....

whoo Yorktown hit a mine... that can be very painful away from friendly bases... Bring the subs around and you might have a great result...

I think KB is better choice :-)

subs will be mauled with whole combined allied fleet in 1 hex

second Yorktown has probably small flood - should be out of action for 2-4 months only

what we saw here is good example of death star tactics - at least 7 diffrent TFs kept together

Well I remenber mines being able to inflict lots of damage with some luck, or bad luck depending on... I had a jap CA barely surviving one mine ( Flt was in the high 40s..), I seeems that uber mining is a good tactic anyway...

baker was mined to same extent and inflicted no damage - luck is all with minefields
but if you have many MLs you should make some use of them - at least with most obvious localisations :-)

1DD reported sunk
probably 2 more are in very bad shape and i think they will not survive
2 next heavy damaged with even chances
1cv ,2ca ,2claa ,1cl lightly/moderately damaged - nothing big but will not be able to come back into line in 1Q43 so will not participate in 1st Raverdave's offensive move

15 hits
not bad

Poor Raver must be regretting his decision to take all the TF's in close. However, I notice none of the BB's were tagged, even though they must have been reasonably close to deliver their bombardment. It seems to me that mining in WITP is considerably more effective than it was historically; I cannot recall even so much as a light cruiser hitting a mine in the Pacific in WWII.

and how many times you saw all allied capitals including 10 BB and carriers running like mad close to enemy prepared atolls ?

miracle there was no collision there

BTW similar amount of mines were totally unsuccessful at wake and baker

i think there will be no more night raids from Raver with whole fleet

nothing to report in last 2 week
some submarine mine warfare
some night MSW allied action at canton
B24 from Midway targeting Wake
usual B17 from darwin against Timor

if Raverdave wants me falling asleep and later striking hard he will probably succeed
Chungking currently quiet
troops regain strenght
i had 6000 AV now it is close to 9000 also 6000+ guns and 2500+ engineers
i should be able to lower forts in a few days

That's a great example of why one does not try to use CVEs as Fleet Carriers...

What's the game-date of this action?

Thanks -

so Zuiho is dead for sure, can Hiyo and Akagi be protected ? if they can go fast enough, you could cover them with all the rest of KB.... it would be quite risky from him to go at you with all he has left...

hm... 101;104, where is that again ?

5-7 hexes SE from canton isl
i doubt he can strike my carriers
he has 1 british CV or two but without Swordfishes
1cvl already damaged
few CVE
yorktown was damaged and probably is not here
i have 3 carrier divisions untouched with only moderate damage
BTW carriers should reach cover from canton ISL so now few enemy planes should be repulsed
Zuiho - it can survive but chances are small
rest .... moderate damages only

will he get the carriers back? as much as i could read, it already is the second yorktown.
Once again it has been proven that counterattacks before 1944 only work if you had a midway style battle with comparable results; as long as KB is still active, it will kill you

101;104 - should be somewhere NE of Canton is. correct?

Yorktown hit mine
CVEs damaged
3 CVs sunk

Nice results in the beginning of 43´.

EDIT: I see the most of it was meanwhile replied and my localization was wrong
