no
there is fleet concentration at Pago Pago
i think he left ships to cover damaged Hornet on her way home ...or decided to strike when KB moves to Japan for rest&refit-i'm low on sorties after last battle -some carriers are able to only cap
there are few cruiser containing TFs
if i move out of theater he still would have unsratched RN and lots of US cruiser to cover landing - i see many transports there - or their cargo was very valuable

There was retreat path to ths SW in last 3-4 days but he did not choose it
after long phase of force conservation we went in "blow exchange "

oh-oh! this game should reach 1946 according to the lastest results!

I've never seen such mighty Japanese strike in 1943! Well Sneer it seems you are among the Immortals!

Btw, Poland is going to loose todays football match against Croatia

probably yes - polish soccer team has never been magnificant since late 80's and now they are simply weak - so you will have great opportunity to empty few bottles beer
but today i'm not watching TV - i have tickets to martial arts tournment in the evening -should be more interesting then watching our soccer team

truth is it is end of this battle - 2 weeks of constant fight
i simply have not enough ammo to continue - enemy is numerous - and it is an omen - even with all bullets shot by mighty samurai warriors enemy will overhelm our position sooner or later
but i will do my best
number of reserve Tojo/Tonys exceeds 1500 and rises steadily
soon Jacks will reach frontline units
and i managed to kill quite a lot of 4e and p38 during last few days
enemy lost ap 5x90 +70+3x30 =610 naval aviation capacity more than JPN fleet carriers capacity at this moment

Greetings Sneer,
congrats, excellent results!

Could you post  your A/C production please?

How many Nakajima engines do you produce? Which factories did you expand? I've just begun producing Tojos in 7/42 and I require about 950 nakajima / month. I produce about 780 nak. / month right now (but Oscar factories should upgrade to Tony, so Nakajima need should decrease next month) .

Bye

"BB North Carolina, Bomb hits 15, Torpedo hits 3, on fire, heavy damage "

Was North Carolina in port, or in a TF? If it was in port, how did torpedoes hit it? And if it wasn't in port, why was it shelled during the bombardment?

I thought that aerial torpedoes only worked during the Pearl Harbor attack. If they are allowed to work in any port, then this Game is still buggered up beyond belief...

From the AAR's I read the game is buggered up beyond belief whether torpedoes are allowed against ports or not!

The issue of aerial torpedoes used in ports was discussed in great detail several times in the past. I was under the impression that the decision had been to only allow them in the initial PH attack, similar to the use of "ship buster" bombs by the Japanese. If that isn't correct, then that changes another aspect of the Allied defensive strategy once again.

I've been under the impression that Don and Gang have been working to remove the buggered up portions of the game. One hopes that this one is on their list.

N.Carolina was all the time in the port - as far as aerial torps - i think that during port attack each torp group has 25% chance to use torpedos - sb wrote this long time ago - so sometimes there are no torps and sometimes they are - if so why tarent attack was possible ????
there is no single reason why so small (4) port should have nets
i think it is ok as some port on pacific isl were atolls with quite a big lagunas inside so i don't see a problem and it is not bugged to me - often ports were nothing more as big anchorages with basic instalations  - and lvl 4 port is sth like this - just think about it
BTW  ship was already heavy damaged and on fire after my 2 bombardment runs- it is hard to see if torp were decisive - Maybe Raverdave can put a bit of light on it  (She scored 50+ hits during bombardment  so at least few of them were heavy caliber (14" and 16"/all 5 BB expanded all ammo this night and 2 on the other/+ quite a lot of 8" +few bomb hits) +15 bomb hits later too

no game is not bugged in this place - it is good compromise - otherwise they would be forced to hardcode every port in game wheather torps can or can not be used  - I doubt anybody is able to do such research
it is not bigger simplification than ability to bombard airfield on 60 miles hex all the time - you could say that  it was not possible in many times - developers had to choose how to solve it - again the only alternative was to hardcode every coastal airfield.
gentleman - it is game - there is 25% for torp port attack - sometimes you have it and sometimes not - i have seen many PH attack with NO single torp used and it is bug to me but it is how this 25% really works
just relax on that

Okay, I didn't remember the "25%" part. I understand where the compromise is coming from, although I have a different mental image of the meaning of "Port Level" - that being a level 1 is essentially an open anchorage while a Level 3 and above have docks, torpedo nets, integral AA, etc., with the amount increasing as the size increases. So I guess it's up to Don and Gang as to how they want to implement the interpretations.

Oh well, at least I got my misconception corrected painlessly (to me that is...)

Thanks -

Keep your eyes open.....the air war in India is about to start to hot up.    I've decided to start putting some pressure on Sneer's airfarce and India seems to be the best place to do so.

I'm still chuffed to the back teeth that the RN CVs made a clean get-away from that fcuk-up at Pago-fcuking-Pago.  Yorktown is just about back at full strength, but there are bugger all other CVs for her to steam with.   Meantime I am continuing with my slow crawl up the Solomans and also towards Timor.  Ground strength is also starting at gather in India
