The pilot exp is only 58 for this group....they are but babes still suckling from their mother.

I thought at first it is an invasion - but it is even better
enemy convoy intercetped between santa cruz and nanomuea atoll
I counted 22 AKs ( 8 sunk this turn , at least 7 next are heavy damaged and only 2 unscratched )

I'm astounded that Raver sent unprotected transports in Harm's Way like that. The way things are going, you'll run out of naval targets in another game-month or so...

Dave Baranyi

I have well over 80+ TFs running around all over the place and this wee little TF got missed on my usual scan and so sailed into harms way Human error only. They had a battalion of marines onboard and a ****e load of supplies.

P-38s in WitP are kitty cats. In UV they were pure Death-In-The-Skies, but somewhere along the way things were changed...

Every WitP Allied player does the same thing with P-38s the first time. It comes from frustration from playing nearly 360 turns without being able to stand up to Japanese fighters...

Dave Baranyi

(The idiotic Forum S/W "starred out" p*u*s*s*y when I first wrote it instead of "kitty". )

If you can get P-38 Squadrons to live long enough and make an exp level of 70 then you have a chance of doing some damage.........other wise they are just fodder for the Jap pilots.

After losing so much, the only thing that Raver should be trying is to pull back and rebuild.

Hi,
the main problem with allies is that no matter how hard they are beaten, they keep coming back. You kick them out of the door - they are coming back through the window..

It will be interesting "what if" game. Not easy for both sides for much longer period than usual..
Good fun for both of you (Go, Japan, go.. !!! - I can´t resist)

With no carriers i am forced to go under the cover of land based aircraft.....that makes it easy for sneer to determin where I will hit next.

yeah, but the thing is, Japan can do something against allied carriers even late in war, it is very hard to pull, but it is possible to manage something... but against allied LBA... when 200 bombers and 80 P38 go for a base, even the best jap sentais can't do anything after the first day...

well I can't wait to see that... The thing is you might be able to pull that once or twice, but what then ? he comes back 2 weeks later having recuperated while your 90 exp samurais are gone forever...

i doubt i will loose so many of them during 2-3 weeks
in long term you are right
but think that my navy fighters are currently being rearmed to Jacks - it is one class higher equipment than zero family when it comes to fighting against bombers and durable fighters
if I was able to halt 300 b 17 unescorted with zeros and tonys i think i will be able to halt the same force with p 38 with tonys and jacks

Yup I am crippled at this point.....at least from the POV of naval ships.  I would love to post the sunk ships list but it would take up too much bandwidth to post it.

Sneer.....just because your sub thought they saw a BB does not make it a BB    But if you want to think that I have have BBs in Perth go right ahead.  Two moves ago my spotter planes reported a CA near Timor.....turns out to be a sub
