painful experiance - as always with enemy 4e raids
last month was definetly a draw and it becomes a sign for nearest future I fear
good at least that allied CV TF is completly out of use for next few months so i doubt there will be any naval offensive movement in short term

FBs are always crappy till they get some good exp behind them say in the 70+ range.   Then they will attack ANYTHING that floats.

I do think that I have at last air superiority over a small area.....north of Darwin.    I must admitt to being puzzelled by Sneer's lack of LRCAP on his ships..........makes for better hunting for me.

too many TFs in the area to cover all :-)
usually FT mission are prioritized
it is difficult to base single sqns for that duty as that mission would be hammered by B17 next day - without B17 in the area i would stand at timor and fight in air - now i keep rather in rear bases as I need 100+ fighters to deliver minimum resistance
second - flying over TFs is not very effective if range is >3 + brings attrition losses i don't like

I fear that I am starting to become much too bold.    I have been sweating on surface recon mission (TF of 6 DDs) that I sent deep into Jap waters, and they have safely returned without being spotted.   I have found a hole under Sneer's wire.

No production of P-38s is fine, but only half the buggers flew the mission.  Moral was fine so it's got me stuffed.  I'm off interstate with work for a few days so things will be a tad quite around here.

Not fleet and not army will win this war for allies but LBA

Without revealing to much your operationnal secrets, I guess most of the planes were LRCAP, so most of the losses are A2A--> dead pilot, right ?

Well amassing supplies with your troops in lvl 9 forts allows you to withstand allied LBA strikes for a bit longer... Buying time with supplies and forts is all you can do in the face of such might...

from that combat report yes
next day Raverdave repeated attack - this time with 90 + p-38 and i lost 100 to his 50 ap.
half of my losses were a2a rest on the ground
situation starts to be difficult
i exchange 1:1 a2a with p-38 when in defence so it is good - problem is that with current combat intensity it will not be possible in 44 and second half of 43 will be difficult
especially i feel Raverdave regains his confidence each time sooner and sooner
no matter how tricky movement i do it is usually one time kick .
even if result are good or very good they are often not repetable
before last combats i thought that 1:1 tojo vs p-38 is marvelous result but even this will lead to heavy times within next 6-7 months. We reached the moment where 100 planes or few warships means nothing to allies because replacement are days not months
fleet situation is probably best possible - far ahead of my expectations for 43
Allies will probably wait till hellcats and repair of lastly damaged ships
it means that except some "surprise" attack from Pago-Pago area in Gilbert direction there is low probability of any amphibious operation in pacific - KB relocates - i think about its future moves - good my disbanded vals and kates sqns are back within week time so i can go for offensive any time as i have loss replacement ability again
i would gladly see allied player to land somewhere as i would have ability to greatly wound him
i think that within short time there will be one great news and it will be delivered by my army.
Industry is ok
shipping ability too - i'm amazed that my losses till now are so low - we both managed to marginalize our sub forces.
it is even highly probable that more resources were lost by both of us in sub force than they hit enemy as far as subs are concerned.

i slightly miss my last trap - pity i did not take 2-3 cvl with me illustrious and ramilles would be sunk too ....

pity i decided to gamble with my damaged DDs at koepang
i wanted to stay 1-2 days more to lower float below <30
now all of these ships including 3 of my ARs are history

i think i need to get used to such situations
and let Raverdave do more offensive actions - defence should be less costly

Hello avid readers !  Sorry this AAR has slowed somewhat, but that is my fault as I am doing a course at the moment which means that I have to put aside a lot of time to study and can only do about two turns a day.    But on the bright side the course is only for two weeks.

As for the game, not much is happening.  My secret recon but a TF of 8 DD's once again tested Sneer's defensive line and snuck in and out without being spotted.  I'm not talking about running upto the fence and sticking my toe over the line, this was a DEEP recon and has now been done twice..........next time I plan on coming inforce.

thunderstorms all over the map -looks like weather model in game gets weird - i don't have opportunity to train my new pilots- most of my planes had problem with flying during last few days so maybe that's the clue
i'm currently preparing 2 operations against Raverdave
There was nice time spot for Raverdave during last few days as I reallocated some assets as priority slightly changed
If my dearest enemy wants to come to me he is welcome.

both sides lost another 150+ planes today
i did expected that without p-38 enemy bombers will stay at home and stroke benares with helens ...not best idea as
escorting tony force was caught on the ground at jamshedpur and 47 of them were lost for nothing
enemy lost p-38 will soon hit 500 as it is number two in air losses
i can't fight long this way as numner of lost planes can be sustained but not pilot quality
Raverdave gets bold and soon he will try to bite my somewhere else i feel

250 planes in 2 days
over 200 planes in last week
and close to 200 earlier
it maybe quite difficult to sustain tempo of operations in india
i really miss named pilot pool in this moment

I'd like to know what would be reaction of allied fighter wing if every major raid cost them 1/2-2/3 fighters
morale could be below the ground level
but unfortunately there is enough fighter to unable me to reach bombers and stop them
my jacks units performs admirably but tojos and tonys show first signs of being outdated - 4 cannons is a standard against p38 and 4e bombers
if so zeke is outdated 4 months before entry date
next battle with US CV will be difficult - i really need to think sth smart as i will see my elite fighters falling down in huge numbers against hellcats.
My ground HQ will release over 250k in troops this month - and close to 100k in the next one
Southern DEI will be strenghten - I see it needs it
Salomons are active field for allied navy but it can be a decoy from other areas so I will probably leave allied free hand here
