I think that I gave Sneer a bit of a shock today.......B-17s over Buna with escort from P-38's....all the way from Cooktown.    Pity that little damage was done.

yes I'm shocked - not even single hit into undefended runway
looks like allied operation is postponed if we see that kind of allied propaganda
Raverdave missed opportunity to hit DEI when I had strong 1st line bases but no reinforcements on hand
now 110k elite troops from chungking - all 99 exp reached their new location in dei - Thanks to fast troops transport that alredy waited at canton - and they moved unspotted through only sub infested region within my peimeter
3inf div and 3 inf BDE are available in main bases to go with counterinvasion - as well as enough supplies and assault small transports they are even nicely prepared for most probablr targets
let's see - you wrote about 2 weeks you need to go for timor - you had some nice chances - now i see this region secured till 44

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 09/17/43

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day Air attack on Buna , at 55,90

Allied aircraft
P-38J Lightning x 21
B-17E Fortress x 36

Allied aircraft losses
B-17E Fortress: 4 damaged

Aircraft Attacking:
18 x B-17E Fortress bombing at 11000 feet
18 x B-17E Fortress bombing at 11000 feet
/pathetic

Hmm... This game is going to be very interesting in the long run, Sneer has certainly learned from the mistakes made by PZB : In 1944 don't use the KB to attack his CVTF, just have it as a deterrent : IF he has to use it to cover all his thrusts because KB might show up, then it will take a lot longer for him to advance, because of all the fuel burnt and the wear and tear suffered by his major fleet units...

And at the same time using the CVLs or small CVs to do a bit of commercial raiding so as to  force him to keep CVEs or even some CVLs in convoys...

And with PDUs on things will be different as well... I really look forward to all that....

you ar only partly right
if his carriers meet mine during invasion i can beat him again and he knows it
second such defeat means serious problem to war ending in 45
so he lures me into revealing my bird farms  - they are ready to action
i had 200+ zekes on R&D but it did not accelerate - now I have all my fleet carriers with zekes
no match for hellcat but not in case where i have 2:1 and in defensive mode close to my bases with lba
9/43 - historical timetable indicates that CEN PAC operation should be conducted by allies - if they dare of course
there are attempts to go through thursday /PM but no risk to me seen in this region at this moment
but with reverse midway such delay is well understood

you are right, of course, what I meant is that a reverse midway for him means additionnal delay of 3-5 months, while a Midway for you spells the end of KB as an effective threat and means he can speed up his operations considerably... While the threat posed by a live KB means things will be lots slower... Giving you times to build very effective ground defenses and to groom you Airforce...

defence is quite good - i stopped expansion when i reached my targets only to have additional time and resources to build key bases
my policy is to have everything - no matter how far away from perimeter at 9 forts so even lone BF can stand against para raiders
airforce is in good shape as I don't fight allies - if they don't want to come to me i do not go to them
exp lvl are good - i have stopped my frames construction - i can go for attrition battle over major area

I remenber seeing a while ago a screenshot of one of your frontline Tojo sentais, it had the right amount of planes, more or less, but double the amount of pilots IIRC, how do you do that ?

( When I disband the a sentai in another, I get the pilots and the planes, which I don't want because they might be torched on the ground and take AF space... ).

I use half strenght units mixed with full strenght one
it often gives 40+ planes with 50+ pilots
yes some of them can be torched but i have them more than needed
Tojos & tonys - over 2000
zero 3a and 2 - almost 2k
jacks 700
200+ of KI45 and Ki 43IIa
losses are low till that date -

Disband-downgrade-upgrade. If you don´t want to wait till all planes are repaired, you can divide the target unit, disband your unit to the one of those parts, downgrade and upgrade that part and rebuild the unit. You will have all pilots together and only 1/3 planes will be damaged..

I just re-read what I wrote and I must admit my english sucks.. But this method really works fine..

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 09/22/43
I think I understand
there is sth like 8 Southeast asia chinase divisions so they will respawn at karachi probably
not that I agree with this but ....
meanwhile heavy air raid on Asansol
165 enemy fighters defended bombers from my 145 planes
exp for both sides was at 70+ I think
my planes are painfully old - tonys are a bit outdated and that's the main reason I think
60 enemy planes for 120 samurais almost all A2A- bad day  only 30 pilots live after battle 80% casualty rate for veteran units always hurts

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day Air attack on Asansol , at 31,21

Japanese aircraft
J2M Jack x 15
Ki-61 KAIc Tony x 130

Allied aircraft
Thunderbolt II x 25
Liberator VI x 103
P-40N Warhawk x 72
P-38G Lightning x 72
B-24D Liberator x 43

Japanese aircraft losses
J2M Jack: 12 destroyed
Ki-61 KAIc Tony: 98 destroyed

Allied aircraft losses
Thunderbolt II: 8 destroyed, 3 damaged
P-40N Warhawk: 16 destroyed, 3 damaged
P-38G Lightning: 24 destroyed, 10 damaged

Japanese ground losses:
164 casualties reported

Airbase hits 30
Airbase supply hits 5
Runway hits 128

how did decide to stand and fight ? Aren't you supposed to avoid battle as much as possible whenever it isn't capital to stop his aerial offensive, ie whenever he is not coupling it with ground offensive...

This is a big defeat... Your biggest since your CV victory... Keep up the fight and trains pilots, you have some rank filling to do...

Oupps... Sorry I didn't pay attention enough... BTW, I didn't mean to criticise or anything, just asking a question, but I guess since this is an open AAR you cannot enter too much into details without revealing to much of you operational methods.

Keep it up and make the emperor proud !!

hmmm... I wouldn't call that gamey, because this LCUs are part of SEAC, so gamewise it is acceptable...  But the in WITP the allies are a coalition facing a unique country ( well one could talk about IJN and IJA being 2 countries... )... The question is what is the abilities of each member of the coalition to deploy outside their original box..

US troops could perfectly well deploy in India, they would just have to be transported across the atlantic and round Africa.. Same for UK troops in West coast... but the idea that Chinese troops could appear in Karachi once China is under jap boot... well... I am not sure it is plausible... You could talk about some form of resistance like French and Poles in exile, but then that means not enough manpower to man 8 divs...

If you are fine with it, then its OK, other wise you could argue with Raver that each of them should stop allowinf reinforcements once it reaches 80 or 100 Assault points, to emulate the limited exiled chinese manpower ?

Anyway, If you are both fine with, then it's OK.

Keep up, Banzai !!!

i don't have any idea what to do
sooner or later it will be over 1k AV maybe even close to 2  and it will be cannon fodder with chinase replacement
i think you are right
units are ok but soon their replacements should be turned off
let's see what Raverdave suggest

Well I think that Chinese troops are f**cking usless........I'll use them maybe in India to keep the the locals in check....or i might make them do a LONG march back to China.
