I am flying in the 1st Aus Army HQ to Malacca by flying boat as I need an advanced command HQ.

1st Aus Corps with 6 Divs plus armour, arty and base force support is starting to gather at johore concentrations will take about 6 days to achieve but when it does its Singapore or bust !!!!

(IF I can take Singers and its a big IF I would consider using 5 of the 7 Divs currently in Malaya for an Indian adventure......but thats for later !!!!)

6 weeks of quiet from now in order to re organise the focus will be Malaya and Malaya alone until my loggies tell me its ok to proceed !!!!

will you be softening up the ground defences at Singapore with air attacks beforehand? I'm assuming he has too much supply there to simply attrit away

Yes and no I need to be carefull I have about 250,000 supply in Singapore and I am recieving about 400 a day from captured resource centres.

I have 7 Divs plus a lot of armour to support plus a lot of support and seabee units.

I really cannot affort to operate 4E out of Malaya yet.

FB's and 2E tacticals (Mitchells, Mossies etc) will operate against Singapore

I basically want Malaya to be self contained for now and not to require major replenishment if I have to run more convoys through the gauntlet they MUST have a Fleet Carrier escort that much is now clear CVE's cannot cover convoys facing that level of LBA only fleet carriers with full loads of Hellcats and Corsairs can manage it.

p.s that is not to say if I get an opportunity I will not stage a Gp of Superforts through Malaya to hit Chinese AF's it is just not my intent to base any B29 or even B24 Gps there until and if I capture Singapore

How is the possibility of going into India going to get you to Japan??
From Malaya, you should be going towards finishing up with Northern Borneo and over to PI/Formosa. If not there, then going through the Central Pacific to Japan. With the number of Fleet CV's, you should make one large push through to Japan.

By the way, how is your supply of Hellcats looking??

Yes, I think that debacle pretty much relegates CVEs to the West coast run or as supporting players to a fleet carrier (or two or three)

NY Giants you are correct it is a sideshow but land units are NOT my constraining factor a small land campaign in what I am sure will be a lightly defended India could secure valuable points, distract PZB and kill Jap pilots before I head near the HI.

That force in Malaya is now OUT of the war if they win in Malaya I am not earmarking them for future ops so a few AP's (of which I now have plenty) could be used to ferry several Divs to India for a little adventure

Its weird but AK's are more valuable than AP's now

With the size of KB reduced to almost nothing as compared to the amount of Fleet CV's you have, have you considered the Midway-Wake-Marcus-Iwo Jima axis as a possible advance to Japan proper?? They are sufficient distance between them so nothing but long range bombers could interdict your fleet. Just a thought...
Plus, it would shorten your supply lines.

where are all of PzBs planes based? Can you bomb his airfields? Or is your supply situation that critical?

Even bombard with surface TFs?

Also, by this stage of the war you should have ample ships/planes/LCUs for a multi front attack, but it seems the whole battle has been focused on Malaya for a long time. Are there any opportunities even for carrier strikes - sail in, bomb AF/port, sail out.

NOT trying to tell you how to fight the war - you are doing a great job - just making suggestions.

PZB has planes at Soerbaja, batavia and Palmebang my supply situation is not that critical and I m considering it but actually after this convoy transts there wont be much else at sea in this area for a while as Malaya is really fire and forget !!!!

Surface TFs I am a little short of BBs for that and his BB's are still a potent threat much as I wqould like to its just not worth the risk at present.

Malaya has only been the focus for the last 20 days or so ;) it may feel like a long time

I landed on the 21st September in Malaya we are now at 14th October so not to long !!!

The reason the other theatres are quiet is

1. Marianas deemed to strong and all my Eastern Carriers are finishing a refit cycle on the West Coast
2. PI appears to strong ---- I am contemplating going back into the PI actually its another place where I can use my numbers of Divisons to exploit. But in any case I  only have carriers to support one thrust and that was the Malayaop for this month

Yes but don't forget the largest part of Southeastern Asia command troops, not to mention the Chinese Army, are completely blocked and/or obliterated, thus requiring Mac to involve SWPAC and SOPAC command troops in operations like Malaya, while otherwise he should have them landing somewhere between Borneo and Attu in a classical scenario where all the historical forces would be available to the Allied player...

Aye but SEAC is ressurecting like a pheonix from the flames

1st ISF base force has came down from the hills as has 2nd Indian Base force and are currently refitting at Malacca.

3 more SEAC Base forces and 224 Gp HQ are in China and will be flown in ASAP.

An RAF Wing of 4 Sqns (1 Liberator, 1 Mossie, 2 Beaufighters (1NF)) has activated...

It appears that SEAC is back in the fight !!!!

I have decided to concentrate several B25 Gps in Malaya as they suck up less supply in a few days I hope to have 300+ taking up the fight

Hi, please could you explain this! Where do these units come from? From the reinforcements queue? Or were they left somewhere on the map? The bases shown on the maps posted by you in this thread show the Union Jack...

3 of the RAF Sqns were hiding in China - the NF's appeared at Georgetown when I took the base

the 2 base forces are from China and there are 3 more SEAC base forces currently in China plus 224 Gp HQ all will be transferred to Malaya ASAP

In addition there are 2 US Aviation Regts there that I will pull out as I have the PP's to change them

I suspect that several bases in India and Malaya have hidden air units ready to appear Ground forces unfortunately require the recapture of of Bombay or Karachi both of which are urban and therefore impregnable.

I wish at least one access base was not Urban as it is that 4x multiplier that puts me off even attempting a direct invasion of India

If the NF unit was No. 27 Squadron, your assumption is probably correct. You should get No. 62 Squadron when you take Alor Star and No. 60 Squadron when you take Kuantan (if these units did not remain on the map).

OK neat trick for use of float plane transports (only really relevant for the solitary Coronado Sqn as Dakotas have the same range as PBY's more or less)

If you order them to drop supplies on an inland base and the inland base has a RIVER then you can order them to 'pick up' troops from that base. For some reason they wont do it if you order it direct but go via the drop supply command and it works !!!!

It allows medevac from inland lakes and rivers (as they historically did in Burma at least)

In case anyone was interested in how I managed to evac 2 base forces from China !!!

I vote Pink.  Simplest logistics.  Go Aomori/Omimato and bomb, bomb, bomb.

My initial thoughts are Yellow as a diversion

with Green or Black as main assault and Pink as fall back option to end the war if things go tits up !!!

For the West I go with BLACK - you will need to have some support from LBA to cover your forces. Maybe not as much when it comes to the initial landings, but any follow up forces will need to have your CV's cover vs CVE's as you have already learned.

For the East I go with YELLOW - I like Pink, but the weather up there is not good and he has too many bases to hit you from. Going Yellow will take out LBA until you get to Iwo Jima. I would also consider taking Marcus first and have follow up forces take Wake as he will be expect you to go the other way. It's bold, but would put the Home Islands close to the front in a hurry.

Again, I think your main advantages are with your ships and LBA's. The avoidance of any places where he can get to you with LCU's is to be avoided as much as possible.
