Germany at War: Barbarossa 1941

Reviews - From the Press

Gazette du Wargamer Review

Posted: 18 SEP 2014

"If you are looking for a game stopgap, quick parties of about 30 minutes, then Panzer Corps should better suit your expectations. However, if your coping skills are slightly more flexible and if you want more of a challenge -and an expanded level of realism too- then Germany at War seems to clearly be the winner. Though Panzer Corps aesthetics and superior polish may be able to seduce you more, Germany at War offers more in terms of gameplay, realism and immersion but also, finally, of pure fun. If it was about a boxing match, I'd give the last winner to points!"

This new game throws in real history with useful innovations. The result is spectacular. Phobetor deserves a large amount of praise for their game and encouragement to make a grand series from it.

80% - "The title is particularly impressive with a sophisticated, varied campaign mode, but also provides a solid AI and interesting innovations in terms of troop management. Another plus point is always transparent and easy control. However, there are deductions for which I feel a little too brittle guessed presentation".
