Do they use naval or merchant shipyard points.. manual is strangely silent regarding that. (I do hope it's merchant though)

MSW are merchies, the others are warships.

Merchant is used for APs, AKs, AOs, and TKs.

Not sure if it uses merch for APDs and AVs. I would think not, but not 100% sure. Everything else uses naval.

I was told CVE use merchant as well.

Well they should be. They were almost without exception built on merchant hulls. I doubt the game takes that into effect. I could be wrong of course.

The whole list for MSP is CS, CVE, AO, TK, AP, AK, ML, MSW, MLE, AE, AV, AR, AS. Everything else is naval.
